Egyptian Gods > everything. Also remember that there are few duelists who can use them and they are the best.

The dub, apparantly, "keeps" this. The minute he makes contact, there's a bright flash of white. Like, you know how he SHORYUKENed that one guy, then kicked him before going after the other? It's like, P-FLASH-FLASH! then "What th-" P-FLASH-FLASH-FLASH! type o' thing.

So, how do you guys think the Egyptian Gods would fair against the new gods?

They would not. Remember, the Egyptian gods are broken. They can't even be used in play without MAJOR alterations to them. Duel Monsters is before they had to actually THINK about balancing the game (and mostly, they didn't have to...'til they made GX), as it was so new. But no matter what, there's no way around a card that cannot be destroyed by card effect, gets stronger with every card you draw, and reduces your monster's attack and defense by a full 2000. And that's like, the weakest one.

Polar Star gods can be used in actual duels without much alteration from the anime, so they're not THAT overpowered.

You do know Thor would completely nerf Ra and Osiris, right?

What with it canceling out their abilities and dropping their attacks down to 0, then have Thor and Loki take them out for massive damage.

After that you can just have Odin suicide against Obelisk who will then revive.

At the end of the turn all three Norse Gods would still be on the field.

Honestly, the Egyptian God cards are massively overrated.

Even legalized, Ra sucks. His effect isn't that great at all. Obelisk's effect is....OK. Not good, not bad, just OK. Slifer/Osiris MIGHT keep its effect. We gotta wait til 2012...
