Wait, so “You and Everything Else” is the new drama everyone’s buzzing about? I’m intrigued but also skeptical. The whole “frenemies” trope can either hit hard or flop like a bad K-drama wig. Are we getting some serious character development, or is it just going to be a lot of angst and misunderstandings?

And those quotes? They sound deep, but are they actually delivered with the kind of emotional weight that’ll have me sobbing into my snacks? Someone convince me before I waste 15 hours of my life on this! 😂

To me, Sang-Yeon is the more interesting character. She is successful, admired, and yet her entire existence revolves around comparing herself to Eun-Jung. That shows how empty external achievements can feel if your heart is unsettled. Even when she became famous, it was not enough for her because she still measured herself against someone else. That is the real tragedy of her story. I don’t think she is simply a villain. She is a deeply broken person who never learned how to be content. Watching her brought me a sense of pity more than anger.

The strength of this series is not the story but the performances. Kim Go-Eun and Park Ji-Hyun carried the entire show. They gave so much depth to their characters that even the smallest look or silence had meaning. Without these actresses, the drama would not have worked. I believed every emotion they portrayed, whether it was anger, jealousy, or quiet pain. That is why I rate it highly, even if some of the writing felt stretched.

Honestly, I did not enjoy it much. The story dragged for me. I felt like it was going in circles. Eun-Jung suffered, Sang-Yeon envied, then repeat. There were powerful lines, but overall it felt too slow. I understand it is called a slow-burn, but for me, it burned too slowly. I wanted more development in how they dealt with their emotions rather than stretching the same conflicts.
