People want to make a big deal out of this because it's a "gay rights" thing. That's all.

Also, when the people who bitch and complain and rip on Microsoft about this are done, they'll turn off their computers and go right back to playing Gears of Bore.

Did anyone else notice the part of that article that said Microsoft banned someone who was simply trying to use his legal name. Banning someone for trying to use their real name, when their real name is something like Gaywood is stupid.

Yes policy is not to list your sexual orientation, that's very understandable, XBL should be used as a gaming community, not as a personals listing. Plus by not listing sexual orientation you wouldn't have to worry about being directly harrassed.

Because there's always a debate on what is actually considered gay rights and what isn't, just like there's always a debate in the US about what's a right and what's not, like owning a home compared to freedom of speech or right to bear arms.
