A female Angel doesn't bother me. I think it could work.
Gambit, I remember hearing that Keanu Reeves offered to do a guest appearance for free in the first or second X-Men movie.
Wonder if he'd be up for the part again, although I think he'd stick out too much and probably over shadow the other actors... him being The One.

I'm gonna have to call you on that detail... he wanted to, but once his saber-staff was cut in half, he only wielded one.

Gambit's always been my favorite of the X-Men, so he's the one I've always tried to cast. I'm afraid we'll end up with a young dude to match Anna Paquin, when I want Gambit to be the older sort of sleaze he is. I really want Timothy Olyphant to be cast as Gambit...I think he'd make a good movie Gambit.
I can't believe they're making Angel a female -- not that I give a crap, really, I hate that character, but X-Men fans shoved pineapples up me bum when I said that I would cast Tadanobu Asano as Gambit. Wow...do not mess with the race of characters. But, the studio makes Angel a female, and I bet it will be all peachy for the die-hard nerds as long as they get someone that represents the goddess for nerds like Jessica Alba...

Lately I've been finding, so long as they bring across the character the race of the character doesn't matter anymore.
Michael Clark Duncan, I thought, was a fine enough King Pin, and I think Halle Berry would have been a good Catwoman... had they made her really Catwoman.
I wouldn't mind an Asian Gambit at all. And one that could do a Cajun accent to boot would be beyond cool.
