worst kamen rider series ever...

I will say that I didn't vote for OOO? But if the show finishes without improving any, it will easily be the worst modern Rider series. Thus far the show is just all the worst parts of Faiz and Den-O combined with a truly insipid design aesthetic.

Yeeeeah, it would probably be the same for me. I wanted to like it a lot because the cast seems pretty cool, but there's just...not much of anything for me to like outside of Gamel. And, honestly, I'm not sure my heart can stand to see poor little Gamel killed. D: I'm definitely going to try and finish the series...eventually, but man it'll be a task.

I am pretty divided on OOO's cast. Some of the characters I find really intensely unpleasant to watch (like Shingo-Ankh and Kougami), then there's some pretty promising stuff like Date and Gotou. Eiji is kinda bland but for a main character in this kind of show that's okay.

I actually really like OOO's dialog. Kobayashi writes some interesting lines in this show. They just end up delivered poorly or just oddly. I really feel like the show is a case of good scripts getting mangled by producers and directors that have decided this year all they're doing is getting a paycheck.

A lot of my problems with Blade and Kiva I'd also attribute to bad direction mangling good ideas, so I guess that's just the thing in Heisei Rider that really gets to me.

Tie between these two.

Decade promises so much yet delivers next to nothing. It can't even be bothered to follow through on itself. OOO's is Bandai reaching a whole new level of shameless toy-bombing and it's following hot on the heels of a series that proved you could meet toy quotas while still having a damn cool superhero action show with a good story and that series was more than Kamen Rider in name only.

I am enjoying OOO so far but I have quite a few problems with it:

- It presents a character played by a 13-year-old girl as a sexual object for both the audience and for another character played by a man in his mid-20s. Plus, it's pretty sexist that the male Greeed have the human forms of adult men, whereas the only female one is a small, nonthreatening-looking girl

- Its tone is inconsistent. It seems to want to give the impression of being a cheery, moderately comical show that can do a serious plot, but it goes from one end of the scale to the other without reaching a balance

- The constant form changes and blatant merchandise plugging. People complain about this in Double but it wasn't quite as bad - they had a core set of three Memories each plus Fang, and then they got two form upgrades (counting A to Z.) Whereas OOO introduces new Medals and form changes literally every 2-3 weeks, with the promise of many more to come as a new Greeed is introduced

- I dislike the way that Date is clearly going to be written out of the action to make way for a "cooler" character to replace him as Birth

Unless the writing goes majorly downhill by the end of the series then Kiva will still be worse. It's an OK series and I'm more than willing to give it a chance as we are only 22 episodes in, but still, it's problematic

I know I will regret this but....I am going to have to ask you to explain what of faiz and den-o you see in O's.

Also some of you guys saying how bad O's is, are also some of the same people that drooled all over W. W was far from perfect. I just find it some what humerus that you keep pissing all over Os.

Basically, anything that Toei puts out these days is going to have the same fundamental problems: excessive merchandising, overemphasis on fanservice and flashy **** at the expense of the writing, hiring pretty idols who can't act, etc. It depends how much you like the setup and mood of a show that you can ignore that and focus on the stuff you enjoyed

I think there are better actors and stories in O's. Double was OK, but the only two characters I cared about were the main two. I also didn't really care about the rider stuff in Double. It was more about Shotaro and Philip and how they interacted outside of the KR crap that got me into Double.

With O's I Eiji, Gotou, Date, the greed, cakeboss(he kicks ass) and Hina. I want to see what they are doing as people and as riders. O's has a lot more going for it than double IMO.

That's what you like about OOO then. I like both, because they each have a great set of characters, and likeable characters are important to me in the things I watch. There is or should be something in Kamen Rider for everyone

The difference is I love everything about O's. I ONLY liked Shotaro and Philip in W.
