Why I hate 3-D(And you should too)

You know what? I don't have any problems wearing the 3D glasses over my prescription ones.

I can do it, but for watching TV?

Think. Sit and think for awhile. Actually put your mind to it.

How do you watch TV? Most people don't do it like we watch movies. You eat some popcorn. You talk to others. You surf the web. You read a magazine. Make some dinner. You have a bunch of people over to watch the game.

These are not acts conducive to wearing 3D glasses. Especially the last one in my list, because as I've stated is a previous thread, each set of glasses is tied to a specific brand of TV. Some to a specific set. If you have a Panasonic with your set of $100+ glasses and they have a Sony, your glasses won't work on their same set.

Laserdisc, DVD.

Ok. **** 3DTV.

I was talking only about the movies. Even then, the only movies that I have seen in 3D that I liked it better in 3D were Avatar, and Clash of the Titans.

I saw Beowulf, and the movie sucked, regardless of the fact that it was in 3D.

C'mon... you know there's more to it than that!

Unless if you're a super oldie (in which case I apologize for calling you a super oldie), you weren't around for the introduction of things like color and sound.

Non-issue. Never said everyone accepted it; they didn't. People whine about anything new, and pine for everything old. This isn't the same. This is one of those misstep technologies we laugh about later.

Oh, movies? Rock out. It's perfect for 3D. No distractions that come with TV watching, and they still provide the movies in 2D. And polarized tech is cheaper than the shutter tech TV uses.

I enjoy 3D movies, but I can only see a select few, as most give my girlfriend nausea. Avatar for instance I had to see twice. Once in 3D, and once with my girlfriend in 2D. This seems to be a problem with live-action 3D only, as she was fine for How To Train Your Dragon.

For more on how 3D tech works, you can read up here.

And in closing, 3D of the past:

3D now:

Yep. Still looking dumb.

That is the only **** part of 3DTV. I do most times like to do other **** while watching tv/movies so it would be a piss off to wear the glasses around looking like a blind person.... because I'm too lazy to take them off and put them back on over and over again.

It's just a fad of a dying industry trying to drain as much blood as it can.

3-D is a complete waste of a film. it always has been and always shall. does anyone remember friday the 13th 3-D? yeah the movie was pretty fun but the 3-D shots they put into it really hindered an otherwise perfectly sound film.

Soon enough, Hollywood IS going to bring out Smell-O-Vision or all of those stupid gimmicks from the William Castle films.

Jean-Pierre Melville never did crap like 3-D!

Not the Blu-ray... it's incredible to watch in actual 3-D.

Considering Bluray doesn't have a very big market share, I don't see how 3d bluray is going to do any better.

The hell are you smoking? Blu-Ray has a pretty good market share now compared to when it first came out. Now that HDTVs are starting to lower in price, I think people'd be more inclined to switch.

As far as the 3D "phenomenon" goes (I use the term loosely), the glasses make my head hurt. I hope this is a trend that will quickly die out. I still have hopes for traditional movies.
