I heard these were stage show riders, but they look too good to just be that. Anyone know anything about them?

They're the other dudes from the later OP sequence, in that line-up of the 11 Kanto-based Oni (the others are all the ones who appear in the show. Not present are Shuki, and Akira's & Kiriyama's Oni forms, of course.) And one of them appeared in human form, I think in one of the episodes with Kogure.

Kinda neat that they went through the trouble of making costumes for guys who appear for about 2 seconds, although that's the first time I've ever seen those suits described as "good". :laugh:

Danki appeared in human form a few times. (ISTR reading that he was played by the Hibiki suit actor.)

In the arc which culminated with Hibiki Soukou, where Hibiki and Todoroki were temporarily unable to henshin, two of them showed up in human form; IIRC, it was Danki and possibly Sabaki, but I'm not sure about the second.

But, yeah, they did look good. One of the things that kept me watching Hibiki before the director got over the Film Student Crap was the Rider aesthetic -- I love the costume design in this series.

Usually I see people jump on those extra Oni suits as being super cheap, and kitbashed from other suit parts. I dunno, but I do like the one with the BIG claws.

I look and the last thing I get is "super cheap" impressions of the suits. So they went through 11 suits for the Second OP sequence, 7 more for the movie, plus Hibiki's multiple forms. How is that cheap? Especially, since based on a single concept of Oni Rider, they gave each one its own flare?

I remember when these guys were first revealed...there seemed to be a lot of groaning. Same as with Shuki, and the movie Oni, and Hibiki Kurenai, etc...

Me, I liked all the suits for the most part, and some like Hibiki & Kabuki are among my favorite designs out of any of the newer Riders. The recycling costume parts deal isn't a big issue to me because they've been doing that since Ryuki- using the same underlying body design or armor parts, that kind of thing.

That rumoured violin based rider who I believe was supposed to be purple.
