If Lightning is a man she will be seen as a total jerk since she loves to punch and slap her team mates. Compare that to Serah who behaves like the woman you want to take home to your mom.

If we will talk about Anime tropes, Lightning is a very abusive Tsundere. Japan really loves those female characters who slaps and punches her friends.

I voted for Serah because lightning is such a B-word in the game. Being a woman does not gives her pass to be physically abusive to her teammates.

That also made me develop such a huge dislike with her. There is nothing likable about her.I really felt bad about Snow.

I voted for Lightning!! Serah is such a damsel that she have to be rescued on the first game. I know Lightning have flaws and she can be polarizing but that is what makes me like her she is not perfect despite of how powerful she is. If she is turned into an Ideal Manic Pixie dream girl, She would have been super boring. The fact people are still debating about her shows how much impact and impression she left.
