“Catch the Ghost” is a Korean drama series released in 2019, with 16 episodes, categorized as Thriller, Suspense, Crime, Mystery, Murder Mystery and Police Procedural; and streaming on The Roku Channel and Amazon Prime. SUMMARY: A woman applies to work as an officer at the subway police station because her twin sister, who is autistic, has gone missing. It is possible her sister is a victim of a serial killer. ♦ Are We Trying to Catch a Ghost? In “Catch the Ghost”, a serial killer is on the loose and his victims are found on subway trains. The police refer to the murders as the “Metro Serial Killings” and the killer has been called the “Subway Ghost”. The Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) has been working constantly to catch the killer, but they might as well try to catch a ghost. That’s how hard it is for the police detectives to find out anything about the murderer. The victims are found on the subway trains but the killer is never caught on any of the CCTVs and there is no incriminating evidence left behind as clues to indicate anything about the killer. VCU has not even found a connection between the […]

Love this show! The way they handle the subway setting, mixing in personal stories with crime-solving, is just unique. Moon Geun-Young and Kim Sun-Ho really shine in their roles. The plot twist with the Subway Ghost being around Yoo Ryung was unexpected, and I loved how they built the suspense without making it feel overdone. Definitely a must-watch for anyone into crime dramas.

As someone who loves police procedurals, I found "Catch the Ghost" to be a decent addition to the genre. The way they integrated the personal search for Yoo Ryung's sister into the broader crime narrative was well done. However, the jurisdictional conflicts between the police units felt a bit contrived. Still, the series kept me hooked with its pacing and character interactions.

I watched "Catch the Ghost" mainly for the romance aspect, and while it's not the focus, the chemistry between Yoo Ryung and Ko Ji-Seok was sweet. The crime elements were well done, but what kept me watching was how their relationship developed amidst all the chaos. It's refreshing to see romance that feels natural and not just a plot device

I absolutely loved Catch the Ghost! There’s just something so compelling about Yoo Ryung’s personal stakes in the investigation. Her sister’s disappearance added this emotional layer that really hit home for me. And let’s talk about Ko Ji-Seok! I wasn’t sure how I felt about him at first—he seemed so rigid—but watching their partnership evolve was everything. It’s not just about catching a killer; it’s about how far someone will go for family. Also, the whole “subway as a crime scene” concept was genius. It’s such a unique setting, and it kept me on edge the whole time.

This show hit way too close to home for me as someone who takes the subway daily. The idea of a killer who can slip through CCTV and leave no trace? Freaky. But Yoo Ryung’s determination to find her sister kept me glued to the screen. Her relationship with Ko Ji-Seok was such a slow burn, and I appreciated how it didn’t overshadow the main plot. Still, I kind of wish the show spent more time exploring the killer’s motives. Some parts felt rushed, but overall, it was a solid watch.

I found the portrayal of the subway police team fascinating, though not entirely realistic. Ko Ji-Seok was relatable—balancing protocol with gut instinct isn’t easy. Yoo Ryung’s approach, though, was way too reckless for my taste. In the real world, her behavior would’ve landed her in hot water a lot sooner! Still, the show did an excellent job of building tension, especially with the Subway Ghost stalking her. It’s not perfect, but it’s an engaging take on police work.

Oh my gosh, Catch the Ghost had me in a chokehold! I went into it expecting a standard police procedural, but what I got was so much more. The way Yoo Ryung’s personal mission intersects with her job made me cry more than once. And Ko Ji-Seok? I wasn’t ready for how much I’d love him by the end. The action was solid, but I was equally invested in the emotional moments. The twist with the Subway Ghost following Yoo Ryung? Chills. This is definitely one of the most memorable dramas I’ve watched this year.

I love a mystery within the mysteries. I watched an Australian mystery series once and the lady detective had a sister who went missing when they were young. Of course, she solved many crimes. But you wondered each episode if she would find a clue or something that pointed her toward her missing sister. The show had several seasons. Of course, when the last episode aired she found out what happened to her sister. This K-drama is just like that. You're glad they solved or prevented the crimes, but you watch each episode hoping she will find her sister because that was the main reason she became a detective. It's an excellent storyline device to keep a viewer interested.

Oh, the anxiety of it all! The Subway Ghost had been stalking her and she didn't even know. But she was so determined to find her sister, that you couldn't help but hold your breath. Also, I like the actress. She played a lead role in Cinderella's Sister and other K-dramas. She's a very good actress.
