Since the Initiative and the Avengers are now controlled Norman Osborne, who was named Tony Stark's successor after Secret Invasion #8, I'm assuming they're another extension of that. Probably a contingency plan of sorts since the Thunderbolts seem to be falling apart these days. There still aren't many details storywise yet.

As much as I loathe the current state of Marvel's titles, The Sentry is a glorifed Miracleman rip-off, and Norman Osborn is now just Lex Luthor from around 2000-2003 sans any green armour (ironicly)...Gargan seriously needs to take Peter's place in ASM, his evolution over the last few years has been startling anjd easily the best thing to come out of the Spider-Man titles since the Quesada era began
