(Where Wraithstrike Watches) The Toku Thread

The bit with Bias does definitely play out like there's more going on than we realize, yes. And you know, it never occurred to me to think that Colon might have had a different purpose. Food for thought I suppose.

Liveman Episode 3: Obler's Devilish Transformation.

I think there's a step missing in Obler's plan here.
Step 1) Infect humans with tumors
Step 2) Study growth of victim's tumors
Step 3) ????
Step 4) Inject self with tumor cells
Step 5) Become a Monster.

And until he figures out what the third step is, Obler's plan can't even pass into peer review.

Bah, peer review. Just who are these "peers" supposed to be anyway? The same fools who did not recognize my genius from the beginning? I'll show them, I'll show them all!

Liveman Episode 4: Exposed: The Dummymen.

No matter how much pride you take in your perfumes, keep them separate from your other evil plans.

The thing I liked about this was that Mazenda's plan was about proof of concept, establishing whether or not the Dummymen could infiltrate any given facility and perform sabotage before anyone could catch on, and she succeeded. So if next time she went for a more toxic gas to attack everyone with, it could be very ugly indeed.

Liveman Episode 5: Reckless Driving Monster.

Ok, let's talk minor and major nitpicks on this episode.

The blueprints for Takuji's vehicle call for an almost bullet-like design, with enough armor to sustain a direct hit from an IED. What Yuusuke built was an open-air jeep with a mounted gatling gun. How did he get from the one to the other? Why did he think that would honor Takuji?

There's only so far one can take the idea of proof of concept. It was pretty clear that the Enginedzuno could only possess one engine at a time. This extremely limits his own mobility, and makes him less of a city-destroying threat, and more of a nuisance. And there's no sign that Kemp even thinks about upgrading EngineDzuno to use more than one at a time. He's so sold on his idea being so damn brilliant, he's forgotten that hypotheses need constant revision for the scientific method to work.

Yeah, Kemp's was no more dangerous than the bunch of punks who were going to take the possessed car for a joyride anyway. Plus, Yusuke himself acts kind of weirdly chauvinistic and there's a bit he basically bullies Jo and Megumi into working on the damn car with him.

Yeah, this was one of my least favorite episodes.

Liveman Episodes 6&7, Attack of the Living Dinosaur and Dinosaur Versus Live Robo.

It's a dumb plan. But the arc does have some really good writing.
