(Where Wraithstrike Watches) The Toku Thread

As opposed to "Hey, my brother's dead, build a car with me?" kid? This one at least fits into the concept of the story.

That is true, and summoning dinosaurs from the past to destroy modern Tokyo is a very appropriate Super Sentai plot, especially for Liveman and it's emphasis on SCIENCE!

Liveman Episode 8: Battle of Love and Rage.

Oh damn, this is a good episode for a variety of reasons.
1) This is Kemp working a psychological angle for once. Good to see he can branch out.
2) Anger and Fighting Spirit are renewable resources. You can suck the anger from someone's mind, but it will come back.
3) Rather than using Ikaridzuno for mind control, Kemp's turning all that anger into destructive power.
4) When the heroes realize that they can fight for more than just the rage of losing everyone on the island, it opens up their personalities.

Indeed, this was a very good episode; I think my favorite bit was when Yuusuke called Kemp out on his insecurities and he got enraged about that and thus targeted by his own monster.

Also, the design on the monster's a pretty good one.

You're right. It's the first Brainbeast that looks terrifying on its own, rather than mishmash of whatever was laying around the lab at the time.

Liveman 9: Smell the Feverish Rose

This is pretty sad. Mazenda could easily fortify that potion and transmit it via the Dummymen. But she get a perverse thrill from using it in person. And I've already seen the next episode with the Dummymen, and she still seems to be working with gasses at that time.

Yeah, Colon is the best part of the episode and she does what she can but a perfume bazooka can only go so far in raising things above their stock nature.

Dr. Kemp: I have created a monster that can alter space and time, rearranging entire city blocks however I want. Do you realize what this means?
Dr. Obler: It means we can mildly inconvenience everyone! Dr. Kemp, you really are a genius.

Seriously, guys, you have that kind of power and that's what you do with it. There are no words.

Liveman 11: The Man Who Bit a Beast.
God I love this character. After so many Volt plans fell short, this guy is a breath of fresh air.
