Where the Wild Things Are - Talk Up

It's Judgement Time!
Anyone see this movie? Saw it at Midnight last night. Fantastic film. Had more comedy than I was expecting out of it.

Awful... simply awful.... it was so devoid of......... anything. I've been grumbling ever since the end of the movie.

I've never seen a more plotless movie! :shakefist

Wow. Really?

I thought it was the most amazing movie I've seen in a really long time. I liked the fact that it felt a little aimless because you don't really forget why Max is there. The visual effects were also incredible, especially in the age of people wanting to do everything with CGI. If these are the people that want to make a new American Godzilla, I'd say go for it.

I was totally set for this movie to be my favorite of the year, but I got absolutely nothing from it.

What I hated so much about it was that it was aimless. I'm all for carefree imagination, but I've never witnessed such a desolate imagination in a child. What young boy day dreams in so little color and excitement?

And what near threadless non-plotlines there were also got no resolution.

And the dialogue was just... vague nothing that was said like it was profound.

I'm glad you liked it, but this now ranks up there with one of the worst movies I've seen like Drop Dead Fred and Eyes Wide Shut.

I felt the kid never became likeable..... >__<

I REALLY wanted to like this movie, but there was just... nothing to it.

The movie wasn't terrible, but it was definitely disappointing.

It was one of my most anticipated movies of the year as it had one of the greatest movie trailers of all time going for it. But it just plain didn't deliver. Everything felt awkward, relationships weren't developed enough (lone exception is KW/Max), and in the end there just wasn't any depth to it at all.

Dude, this is how I felt about Napoleon Dynamite. How the hell can that hilarious **** be considered a great movie? Sure, it was incredibly funny.........but it was completely random throughout the whole movie, even though the main plot was to "Vote For Pedrooo." That **** didn't even warrant any of the nominees it received from several award shows. Most overrated **** ever.........still funny tho.

As for this movie, I have yet to watch it........so I can't really judge it from an objective viewpoint.

:eyebrow: I don't think anyone actually considers Napoleon Dynamite to be one of the "great" movies. And i'm pretty sure the only awards it was nominated for were pop culture awards shows like MTV or Teen Choice, which holds no weight whatsoever.

plotless? A kid with emotional disorder runs away because he's pent up full of emotions he cant understand or control. He makes up a story where he set sails to an island of monsters to become their king. His task is to make them happy because Max thinks it's just easy to make everyone happy.

But he finds out he's wrong. He can't make them happy and by the end of the movie, he leaves the island knowing he couldnt solve the problem. But he understood it better.

This movie had a fantastic plot. What are you talking about? The plot was dark, fun, and riveting. Carol was so full of emotion I forgot he was a suit.

I just dont understand. Maybe you were just not in the right mood for the movie. It's become one of my favorites!
