What's so great about Maskman?

Because it's the shizzbomb!!

Yeah saying that made me feel so uncool.

& I really don't even know, never watched it.

I just used my magic pinecone to read the other HJUers' minds.

What do you dislike about it? I think its a pretty good series, but its repetive even for a sentai, I think that some of the rangers could use some development, the mech designs are average and the battles are a bit repetive, but the music and villains are pretty good except zeba, the storyline is good,I've seen the first 24 episodes so far except 9 and 10.

It has a really interesting cast of dynamic characters and has a pretty tragic love story going on. I haven't finished watching the series myself, but I love what I've seen. I didn't like it all that much at first, but as I watched more episodes I just found myself drawn into the story of the series. I'm not really a fan of the mech battles, and this series wasn't too different, so I'd say the shining point was the main cast of characters and the struggles they had.

It's not my favorite Sentai, but it's a pretty awesome series in its own right.

Coming from so many space inspired, tech-oriented, and sci-fi sentai, Maskman was a pretty big change. Here's a show that's darker, with a more mystical theme, staying a bit more grounded. The focus on the main hero in love with a major villain's sister was fresh and interesting.

Most people complain about the focuses on Takeru and Akira (the latter due to the actor's popularity), but I think since the show was meant to be Takeru's story, it wasn't that distracting as is the case with some other shows, having the others there really just to support him.

A lot of sentais have ripped it off and get the attention Maskman should have. Maskman's been referred to as the "sentai Romeo & Juliet," so I suppose the imitators are the "sentai Some Kind of Wonderfuls." Even a female disguised as a male smacks of Shakespearian influence.

So far , I think the other three are okay, zeba sucks ass in my opinion ,he jsut sits there,I have to admit the love story is pretty tragic,I can't to see how Igam became evil(don't spoiler for me),i don't care much for the mech designs tough.

I really like Zeba -- a cool design, a creepy story for him. He's not the first or last head villain that remains at base, usually staying in one place.

Although I'm not a mecha fan anyway, I don't see the problem with Great Five or Land Galaxy. Other than Great Five's dopey smile, of course. Be thankful they didn't combine the two mechs.

well I'm on 24, so haven't learned zeba's story yet, the action is good but its feels like the same giant battle between the villains each time ,has good drama though ,fave episodes so far were the first 3, 24,that episode about akira's kid freinds, that episode where they free those people from the underground, that episode where the underground nins fought over the shinobi ball, that episode where they disocver the hint at zeba's weakness but it gets destroyed and it also hinted at igam's past.

Plus, the galaxy robo arc was pretty good, another fave.
