Anime adaptations of manga and light novels can spark fierce debates among fans. Some adaptations capture the essence of the source material perfectly, while others completely miss the mark. For example, I recently finished "Jujutsu Kaisen," and I genuinely feel it elevated the manga's already compelling story with stunning animation from MAPPA. But then you have adaptations like "The Promised Neverland" that left many fans feeling disappointed by the execution in the later episodes.
What elements do you think are crucial for a successful anime adaptation? Is it faithfulness to the source material, character development, or how the animation brings the story to life? I'd love to hear your thoughts and maybe share some of your favorites or the ones you think fell flat.
Do you think certain genres are more challenging to adapt than others? Looking forward to hearing what you all think!
