What should I buy?

Anyone else a tad bit weirded out that carebears has 6 votes?

August, what lead to you meeting Hiroshi Watari anyway?

I'd go with SPIELBAN, since Hiroshi Watari knows how to knock 'em back! :P

You lucky man!! Do you have his autograph?

Hiroshi's English is decent. He knew very little English when first visited us in the late 1980s. We taught him what to say and how to act (and to watch out for people trying to cheat him and taught him how to read US prices -- people used to really screw Japanese tourists over the decimal point in cash amounts) when he went to Vegas, and when he got back, he told us a cab driver tried to pull a fast one on him. The meter said $8.50 and the cabbie told him $85.00 -- as we taught him to attract as attention as possible, so Hiroshi started yelling "Why 85 dollars!? Why!? Why $85 dollars!"... needless to say the cabbie split and Hiroshi felt really empowered. That was hysterical.

Oh! When he first got in, we put Hiroshi up at Damon Foster's house (he's the editor of Oriental Cinema), it was the morning, he was exhausted, and asked to crash out -- but he told us to wait, so we could all hang out. We waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Hiroshi was sleeping like the dead. In those days, my friends and I were quite the practacle jokers, so we rolled up some newspapers and lit the ends to make smoke. We fanned the smoke under the door to Hiroshi's room, and checked to see if the smoke was sufficient. When it was, I stood outside of the door yelling "Kaji! Kaji-da!" (Fire! Fire!), expecting Hiroshi to come leaping out of the room. But nothing happened! We opened the door and Hiroshi was snoring! He had no idea -- and later asked us if someone burnt dinner! LOL!

We also took him to some underground clubs and got him drunk as a stunk, but that's a story for another time...

Anyhow, Rising Sun Ranger, get SPIELBAN!

I forgot to add that the "we" was Barrie Evans, myself and Damon Foster, and also that between the three of us, we have lots of photos that would embarrass Hiroshi today! LOL! Although I do have one great shot of him when he jumped on an San Francisco Police Department tricycle when we took him to Chinatown!
