Er... Yes, I suppose そうだ is a homonym of ソーダ, but the pun makes absolutely no sense in that context and it doesn't achieve anything. Just because two words sound the same doesn't make them automatically punny.

Definitely leaning towards this.

The Sengoku Driver only provided sliced fruits, while the Genesis Driver is able to "juice" more energy out. In Pine Cone's case, it became a liquid, because there is no such thing as pine cone soda. The melon, cherry, lemon, and peach fruits make for some neat soda flavors so they became soda through more carbonation after being juiced, as shown in their helmets. Kurokage Shin doesn't have bubbles in his helmet.

There's no pun.
