What do you want in Power Rangers DVD?

Haha no beef Red, no beef. :castlerock:

Ooooooooooh, good shyt.

I can't believe I didn't say that. Now this is something I'd definitely want for all season releases, which is a little Sentai Education for it's PR counterpart.

Similarities and Differences, plus one episode. It doesn't have to be subbed though.

How is someone supposed to understand it if there's no subtitles?

Anyways ,if they released the sentai counterparts as well as their adaptations like Media blasters did with Voltron, I'd be set. Who doesn't want a subbed Dairanger DVD set?

:hmm:

...That would be awesome! This thread is officially over, Bigdog won!

Well yes of course. If they are then that's great, I'm just saying it doesn't have to be mandatory, because just the fact of watching something completely different from another country should cause a great interest, and if the viewer(s) is impress with what he/she see's they could look more of it up.

Better have no subs on the dvd...then research online and find subs, then be spoil with subs on a dvd then find no subs online. Which can discourage people.

It's just a fun ride of getting out of your comfort zone.

But the subs online aren't legit. We need a legit subbed version of the shows to support Toei and Saban.(If they are reasonable unlike the V3 set, but i wouldn't get that because I never saw the first)

I know the episodes are easy to understand anyways ,but alot of the plot would be missing , especially from episode to episode. You might be able to get a rough idea of it , but it would be extremely limited to the American terminology .

I watched the first four episodes RAW and read their synopsis' prior ,and I can say it's about as different as B-Fighter is to Beetleborgs. Which leads me to the question, could they release the B-Fighter saga as the Beetleborgs from the comic book since it is so far from the American remake?

Even the manga from B-Fighter could be brought here as the Beetleborgs comic book if they were to re-release Beetleborgs here.

I love Dairanger alot. It's like a Kung-Fu homage in of itself. Kakuranger is cool and I love that it's based off the Journey to the West. If you check the concept art for Red's 2nd mecha, it looks exactly like mechanized Oozaru from Dragonball which leads me to assume they wanted to cash in on Dragonball's success.

I would stil like to see some subs even if there isn,t any on the internet just to understand what they are saying.
It would be pretty cool if Saban released some early sentai that hasn,t been adapted in Power Rangers.
A Jetman blue ray release with english subs and maybe some special features would be awesome.

Why not DVD? It should be available in both formats atleast.

I want Bioman. Bring the English dub and the Japanese original , remaster the English track and use the HD video master from Japan.

I didn,t say that it shouldn,t be on both formats:sweat:
I am oke with both.
I wouldn,t mind a english dub as long as there is a japanese audio option for the people who don,t like the dub or just want to hear the original voices.

Take a look at this:

Scroll all way down. You'll see Power Rangers.

The long-running show has morphed into many forms over the years: it was established in 1993 as the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, since then the series has gone through 14 more incarnations (not to mention a pair of theatrical movies!) through to 2009's Power Rangers RPM. The shows were originally produced by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy at Saban Entertainment. In 1995 Fox wanted to establish their loosely-named "Fox Kids" lineup as an actual company holding that became "Fox Family Worldwide", and a merger with Saban Ent. was part of that process (generally speaking, it was Fox that produced the two Power Ranger box office films, and it is thought that Fox therefore continues to hold rights to them even now, as a result). In 2001, Fox sold off the "Fox Family Worldwide" subsidiary to Disney, where it became ABC Family Worldwide. With that sale Saban stopped producing any of these series as of Power Rangers Wild Force; mid-show Disney/Buena Vista took over production. But Disney ended production of new episodes in 2009 with RPM, and for the 2010 season only re-purposed the original Morphin' episodes for broadcast. There have been roughly 30 DVD releases in the USA over the years (including the two films), but all have been single-disc releases, often of a "themed"/"best-of" nature; it is rare for any of the 15 Power Rangers programs to have every episode released on DVD in the States. Although Disney-affiliated Jetix has caused season-set releases of various PR incarnations to happen overseas, Disney has shown little interest in doing similar packages in North America. Nor had they come to the negotiating table when "indie" studios (such as Shout! Factory) expressed an interest in licensing the DVD rights. This has been the hold-up for Power Rangers season sets thus far. A week ago, however, it was announced that Haim Saban's newly-formed Saban Brands company had re-acquired the rights to the original 15 programs from Disney. The following day a press release announced that Saban Brands had finalized a deal with Nickelodeon to begin re-airing the existing 700 episodes on the NickToons channel, with a new 16th incarnation of the show planned to broadcast on Nickelodeon and NickToons in 2011. In the past week, we've received e-mails from passionate fans, who assume this means that Nickelodeon/Paramount MUST therefore have the DVD rights to these old episodes, yes? Well, hold on there...don't go assuming that! NOTHING in any of the public announcements has mentioned home videos rights. It's possible that Nick/Par did acquire those rights, on the other hand we know that several indie studio (including Shout!) are speaking to Saban Brands about the possibility of releasing Power Ranger DVDs through their companies. Whatever happens, it won't be immediately (because it still takes time to produce a DVD, of course). We'll keep an eye on it, but right now nothing is assured in the way of a DVD release just yet. However, things are looking up for the first time in a while; perhaps the long wait will soon be over!

I seriously hope SHOUT! Factory better not to acquire Power Rangers for DVD. They never put English subtitles/closed captions on.

According to my poking around, These are the only Set's that where released:

MMPR Season 1 (Germany)
MMPR Season 2 (Germany)
MMPR Season 3 (Germany)
Zeo (Germany)
Turbo (Germany)
Time Force (Germany)
Ninja Storm (UK)
Dino Thunder (UK)
SPD (UK)
Mystic Force (UK)
Operation Overdrive (UK).

So no sets for Space, Galaxy, Lightspeed, Wild Force, Jungle Fury or RPM it seems.

Feel free to correct this.
Jungle Fury and RPM both had some DVDs released - I'm not sure if JF had every episode or not. RPM was definitely curtailed early - the final episodes aired not long before the Saban buyout was announced, so BVS never had chance to release them. Space and Galaxy have German sets, but I think the audio's German.
