Western Influence on Sentai?

And as you can imagine, that did not sit well with someone (who probably still retains a shred of pride in the company's legacy) at Toei.

Oh yah mos def! That's what I've been thinking seeing how Go-onger stunk and seeing that RPM, being the last season of PR that it is, it actually sit well with the fans. You can actually tell that Disney had some influence on what's good for the adaptation of RPM. Since they've parted ways, to some you might agree, but I can actually see Sentai being sentai again without any outside influence on whether it's suitable for adaptation...

...come to think of it, Shinkenger don't have any dance sequence at the ending like it's past predecessors. From Abaranger to Go-onger. They all had dance sequences at the ending, but not shinkenger. I think Disney had something had some influence in that :laugh: Glad it's gone because I always hated those dance sequances

I think you're missing the point. I honestly believe that there won't be any of them coming. That tradition ended with Go-onger. Now unless there's a dance sequence for Goseiger I could be wrong, but I doubt it...

Yet somehow we're still having giant combination mecha (GoseiGreat's gonna be one I predict). Really, merchandising goes over pride now.

The suits theory may not be that strong. In terms of simple adaptation several things are not used(Mandora Boy), re-tooled (SPD aliens), or used too briefly to matter (Kensai suits, Dekabright). There are furries probably because kids like furries.

Disney and Toei did discuss about how the shows will be handled, but mostly Toei was holding the cards and Disney had to deal with it. If there were influence it was minimal and had to benefit Toei, thus me saying more 2-girl teams. At this point it's still speculation anyway.

Disney had little input for RPM definetely, otherwise we wouldn't have such goofy zords for an apocolyptic. It would've fit if Disney just copied Toei's storylines since that's the easy route. RPM's story had to work around what Toei forced on it to be original.

And why would Disney have influence in choreography that's not used in PR? Sentai still have had cheerful ending themes and some dancing to appease their own audience: kids. If it was Disney's doing then it's what Toei wanted and it would probably show up again in later seasons.

I personally see Power Rangers affecting Super Sentai's fandom. I've seen lots of fans unintentionally view Sentai as "Japanese Power Rangers." Lots of fans still haven't quite gotten a hold of how Super Sentai's stories work, and unintentionally watch Sentai through how a Power Rangers season works. I know Super Sentai is quite popular, but it seems like a huge portion of its popularity comes from "Not being able to see Sentai for what it is." Lots of fans just follow Sentai just for the soul purpose of comparing them to Power Ranger seasons and unintentionally view Sentai as just merely "source material, that's better than it's adaptation." Every time I go onto a Zyuranger thread, I always see someone saying "Better than MMPR." This is how I think PR has impacted the toku fandom.

Fun fact, Maskman is the first team to dance to one of their songs! :laugh:

I can tell Disney wouldn't allow the Goseigers to show off their angelic wings.

Nope, not at the end of every ep. Just at the end of ep 47, and for the Opening of the Movie.
