Wes wasn't Sky's father.

Yeah, thanks bro. Wait, couldn't they have used the ninja storm, or Lightspeed, or Zeo, or Turbo, or MMPR suits?

None of those suits would help what they were trying to convey...plus his dad being a dinosaur...wouldn't fit. lol

Well, first off you need something that could realistically be an early SPD costume and besides being too new Ninja Storm doesn't exactly scream intergalactic police force. So we're looking at Turbo, Space, Lightspeed and Time Force.

Again Space is out -- and the other half of the problem is Disney threw away/wood chipped just about everything when they bought the show. Some people bought a few things, others rescued them from the dumpster (a friend of mine was working on JAG next door and scored an original Green Ranger helmet) so it was kind of slim pickings. I'm pretty sure TF was all they had left.

I also seem to remember hearing once that Jackie pushed for it 'cause she thought the older fans would find it cool (Police themes) -- I don't think she imagined we'd run with it, twist it and it'd become a knock down drag out fight amongst fans for years to come.

TIME PARADOX!!!

Obviously.

Plus I'm pretty sure the powers that be have already stated SPD has nothing to do with Time Force, and that it wasn't Wes. We even saw the guys face, looked nothing like him.

They just used the costume as a nod to the fans, and the fact it was the only other suit they could get their hands on that wasn't based on an animal and they'd already used the Space helmets for the A-Squad.

But that hasn't stopped the annoying plebeians from trying to connect them or force a square peg into a round hole. They have nothing to do with each other. Sky doesn't even know what a "Wes" is. Just accept it was a sucky mis-step and move on.

You're right. It HAS been stated that S.P.D. had nothing to do with Time Force. It was stated by Bruce Kalish. I can't believe people are still trying to make connections either.

Maybe Sky took his mother's last name?.

The fact of the matter is NONE of us can deny that it was a Time Force suit in SPD.

Some speculate that SPD was the early stages of Time Force which I do agree with.

That seems entirely possible, they probably reverse engineered most of the crap Wes had left over, or they left around the place.

And Dami Chan, :O_O: you're telling me that they threw away the suits and crap!?

I heard the following:

Toei - The warehouse holding all of the old costumes and **** got set on fire and burned down.

Disney - They trashed all of the old **** because they are douche bags.

From what I recall another explanation was that, seeing as it had been 10+ years without any proper maintenance (the majority hadn't been take out of storage in years), a lot of the suits, especially monster suits, were heavily damaged and decaying at that point. If the fire did in fact happen that certainly would have made it even harder to refurbish them.

Disney, being a shrewd company, after all, likely decided to clear out everything wholesale and not pay extra amounts of budget to store countless suits which weren't viably useable (or likely to be used anytime soon) except for the remote chance of kit-bashing, which was already a very rare occurrence, and instead just stick to the Sentai suits that would get inevitably brought over each year, and thus start the backlog from scratch. This doesn't mean it was necessarily a fully justifiable decision on their part, as they didn't give those on the show much time to sift through and salvage what remained, but it does make a lot more sense than "let's be jerks and raze a large part of the show's history for no good reason."
