Was there a Gao vs. Time and Bouken vs. Magi?

Fans of Timeranger and Magiranger, as far as I know, are pretty upset that their favorite teams didn't return to meet their successors (statring on Magiranger, I'm one of the unhappy latter). While we got the interesting vs. Super Sentai movies, it just doesn't replace teamups with Time and Magi. I think the filmmakers knew that...(you're probably going :eyebrow:, aren't you ).

Well, let's think about this: Timeranger did team up with their predessesors, Gogo V, which includes GoYellow. Well, who's the yellow warrior in Gao vs. SS? Forget for a moment that TimeRed appears with the other Red Warriors, GoYellow can be seen as defacto team-up Gao has with Timeranger. As for Bouken vs. SS, is there need for explanation? I think it the lack of a Bouken vs. Magi is the reason both Tsubasa and Hikaru appear; it was to make up for their whole to not appear.

I know it's not the same as a full team-up with Timeranger and Magiranger, but does it help to know that Toei seemes to have a little concern for the fans of Time and Magi?

As far as Gaoranger VS Timeranger, I don't feel like Toei had little concern for Timeranger fans -- just the opposite. They preserved the Timeranger story rather than ruining it or twisting it or retconning the whole thing just so it could mesh with another show its polar opposite for a throwaway 45 minute special.

Exactly. According to the plotline of Timeranger, a teamup would have been impossible or would have really destroyed the emotional impact of the final episode. Super Sentai World was bad enough, and it didn't bother explaining how or why all those teams were able to show up at once, but nobody cares because it was a short special with no plotline and was easily ignorable. Gao vs. Time would be a little harder to explain away.

The closest thing we got to Gaoranger vs Timeranger was PR Wild Force vs PR Time Force.

I agree. PRWF: Reinforcements From the Future was the closest that we go to seeing Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger vs. Timeranger, but it was worth watching. The storyline was getting good until the second part. I don't get why the Master Org wanted to use pollution against the humans, but what mattered to me was the origin of the MutOrgs. That was something that I would expect to see. Plus the ending where the Wild Force and the Time Force having a picnic didn't quite follow the entire plot of the teamup episode very accurately. I thought it was going to be more of a dramatic exit for the Time Force, except for Jen, who choose to stay with Wes and Eric. Plus, they didn't explain what was going to happen to Ransik, now that he's fully human.

Overall, PRWF: Reinforcement From the Future was a somewhat plot hole-ish teamup episode, I think they should have focused more the plot, instead of the pre-production.

I was dissapointed that Toei didn't bother making Go Go Sentai Boukenger vs. Magiranger. The reason why is because there wasn't enough room to fit it in the entire show, obviously. Also, it had to follow up where Gaoranger vs. Super Sentai left off. I just wish they had made storyline for Boukenger vs. Super Sentai more epic like its predecessor.

Magiranger VS Boukenger would've worked perfectly IMO. It makes me think if they'll do a Boukenger VS Gekiranger. I'd love to see how it'll work out. I agree that Time VS Gao probably wouldn't have worked out, but the only reason I can think of would be budget.

There's actually a VERY good reason why Gao vs. Time wouldn't work, but it's also a massive spoiler.

Bouken vs. Magi would have worked just fine though. There's no continuity problems there. It really is a shame since Magi is one of my favorites in terms of plot.

I have two things to say:
1.) What I was saying in my post, I was saying Toei did have concern for Timeranger fans when they included GoYellow. I was defending Toei from upset fans of Timeranger and Magiranger.

2.) You make a good point. It would have probably screwed up Timeranger to try and bring the characters back to meet Gaoranger. The only character that could've possibly come back did in Gao vs. SS (TimeRed). You make a valid point.
