Yeah pretty much. Like we're gonna go "What? You're an American consumer? Well go right ahead even though it's not yet our business hours and we don't even have the cash drawers out and cafe isn't set up! Hey the world is all about you and we're just nametags!"

I don't know. One the one hand I will never cease to be amazed at the capacity for some to walk into a store or any public area with this bloated sense of entitlement coupled with being willfully oblivious to the idea that a store is ran by fellow human beings. Seeing a situation like what happened at that Wal-Mart is like an ultimate example of this.

But on the other I'm not ready to give up on humanity just yet. For every two assholes or idiots I might deal with in a given day at the store, there will also be folks that are genuinely respectful and appreciative of the help. They understand that if we can't do something it's not because the entire staff has conspired to ruin their lives and theirs alone.

I am completely sickened by whatever it was that prompted those people to stampede in, literally over this person who got in their way. There is no excuse for that.

But for all the selfish people who wouldn't move or didn't hear me when I asked to get through, and I'm pretty sure at least a few of them did it on purpose because they didn't want to lose their spot, there were just as many who apologized for bumping into me or being in my way when I was going through an isle. Let's not be callous assholes who crush retail workers to death, but let's not give up on the human race yet either.

Last I looked, 'pregnancy' wasn't a valid excuse to not be at work. And from the Employers point of view: you want EVERY available employee working on a big day like Black Friday; no excuses.

It is in no way the employee's fault for crazy fucking people. Breaking through the glass to get in? Come the **** on. What are they, a fucking zombie horde?

I must have read it wrong. I thought it was a pregnant woman among the crowd trying to find deals. I didn't know she was an employee. And I don't think anyone blames the employees. I just think that something could have been done to make the employees and the shoppers safer. More security perhaps? I don't know. I get worried for pregnant women. I see many times a situation on the bus or train where people won't give up their seat for a pregnant woman. Just this past week doing the Thanksgiving shopping, some guy who clearly saw this lady getting in line, rushed in and moved in front of her before she got in position. Rather than confront that guy (because you don't know how crazy someone might be) I let the lady have my position in the line I was in. Same with older people. A woman politely asked if she could get through the throng of people in the bake aisle and some guy shouts "NO!" and doesn't budge. So knowing how mean people can be, I would avoid potential situations where harm could come to me or my child knowing how people can get sometimes.
