vlc player questions

I'm attempting to get some screen shots from a video I made of a humming bird I was wondering if vlc player had any slow motion type option on it or not?! I am looking but can not seem to find one :eyebrow:

I have a few anime HK DVDs, but for some reason I can't get the sub titles to show up even though they have the options for them. Anyone know how to fix this?
