US Death Note LAA script leaked?​

News of an American Death Note LAA has been kicking about for a while, and now it appears that a draft of the movie’s script, penned by Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, has been leaked online. You can check it out at this link:

It’s labelled “First Draftâ€, dated April 7th, 2009, and copyrighted to Warner Bros. This is, obviously unofficial, but judging by the presentation and general quality, it certainly appears to be genuine. Apart from transposing the action to America and removing Ryuk from the proceedings, it’s also remarkably faithful in spirit to the original source material. Watch this space.

Hold up, they took Ryuk out? Other than having the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the soundtrack, he was the only thing I liked about the movie.

I hated everything to do with deathnote ... or at least the freaking moronic endings ... yesh... hours of my time wastes!

...uuuhh...yes dear I know...

I just didn't like the cast of the japanese version! The only one I liked there was Ken'ichi Matsuyama's portrayal of L, and Ryuk was entertaining as well. Could care less how true they stayed to it's source, everything about the first 2 Death Note films seemed a little rushed! Didn't like it at all! Didn't even bother to watch the 3rd film.

Now, I'm no expert when it comes to Death Note, but I think the general consensus that this the "First Draft" kind of throws out any chances that a good portion of the script will be in the movie.

Many revisions could have been made since then, not to mention that if it were the real thing you'd think there would be a bigger crackdown on letting it get passed around.

At any rate, don't go sending petitions or making comments of "WARNER BROS RUINED DEATH NOTE" just yet. For crying out loud there isn't even a premiere date for the film, let alone a trailer, let alone a teaser trailer or "Official Site" for that matter. That, and as far I've heard, most people say this "leaked script" is way better an adaption than Dragonball Evolution ever was so that has to count for something at least.

Oh most definitely, The leaked script for Death Note is way better then that of DBE. No contest, everything about DBE's leaked script was ridiculous beyond comprehension! And yah you're right. Changes in the script are definitely gonna happen. So Far, despite Ryuk being dismissed from the proceedings, things are looking kinda good right now.
