Ultraman Taro - Talkback

If you know how FK rolls then you know it's a new series every damn week or two, depending on how my drug deals go.

So I'm gonna check this series out. Luckily I downloaded the entire raw series so it saved me burning dvds/trade time and cash.

So to the Ultra fans, what can I expect from this series compared to what I've seen already which is: Original Ultraman, Tiga, Gaia, and Nexus.

Also, who is this?.

I've only seen 1-12 but I liked what I saw. Cant really compare it to other Ultras of the time since I watched Taro a few years ago and the other Ultras I watched very long time ago so I dont remember much about them.

i was watching the Meley dubs of taro not to long ago. LOVE THIS SERIES.

I didn't know a dub existed, right now i'm watching it raw. Got through the first 5 episodes. A big jump back in time from watching Gaia to Taro though lol.

The first ep didn't sit well with me, a little too comedy-ish for me but from there on it got a bit better.

So Kotaro is the actual son of Ultra Father & Mother, I guess he came to Earth in disguise and then died (the first of many times in the series I read) in the Fighter ship explosion and that's when The Ultra Brothers & Mother ressurected him.

So that Lady who gave him the badge was the human form of Ultra Mother?.

Are there any really good epic and dramatic episodes to look forward to in this series?. I heard the ones where Taro get's killed a few times are excellent.

I also heard most older Ultra fans don't really like this series too much because it was said to be one of the lighter Ultra series next to Ultraman Ace and think the only good things about it are the mass amount of cameos by The Ultra Brothers.

For instance, Ultra Mother coming to help in ep 3 rocked! and now in episode 5 I get my first classic taste of Ultraseven!!!!!!! w00t!. Ep 5 was awesome.

Here's a little trivia for you: Valkie-seijin was based off a reject design for Ultraman Leo. I remember reading on Wayne Koizumi's defunct site, Absolute Ultraman, Wayne's theory of how Taro is the illegitimate son of the Ultra Mother and Ultraseven. To me it's true, because aside from the horns Taro does look like the son of Seven. I mean look at him: the only thing he has in common with the Ultra Father are the horns!

Taro is only the greatest Ultra to ever fucking live, yes greater than Seven, greater than Legend, greater than Great, greater than Mebius, greater than oh you get the picture.

Seriously though, I like it when a series is comedic sometimes, if you like what you see in Taro you'll probably like Ace, I heard Ace was light and comedic like Taro was.

I grew up with Taro, one of my first Ultra and Toku shows, and I love it more than Kel loves Orange Soda. :thumbs:
