You are going to be disappointed if you're expecting great fight scenes in Powered. the stories are quite well done though. a fresher take on the original Ultraman storyline.

Damn. Well it'll still be cool to see NinjaBlack again!.

Powered is the original ultra americanized in concept and story, my favourite part of the show would still be powerd's suit, the psycho baltan, the freaking power train Kemura (Kemular) and Z-ton... And I just learn that Steve Wang turned Tsuburaya's offer to helm that series because he was afraid that he won't have too much creative control...? :eyebrow:

My favorite Powered eps have to ep 1 with Baltan, ep 3 with Red King and its mate, ep 4 with Telesdon, and eps 12 and 13 with Dorako and Zetton. Those have to be the best designed monsters of the series, plus I love the updated stories. Episode 4 combined the Telesdon ep with elements of the Antlar ep from the original series [mainly the ancient statue of Ultraman and the people who worshipped it]. And IMHO, episode 1 of Powered had a better battle with Baltan than the original series episode 2 which was Baltan's first appearance.

Great was almost perfect: it had great fights, stories, and monster designs. The only thing it needed to be perfect was for Great to have a plus or L style Ultra Finisher. Another think that made it good was this was where Farscape director Andrew Prowse got his sci-fi directing chops.
