Ultraman 8 Brothers

So I'm just about to watch Superior Ultraman 8 Brothers. thing is, I've never seen ultraman before, other than a couple of episodes of Ultraseven X. So I'm asking you guys, briefly, what should I know about the series before jumping into this movie?
I don't want to be all confused from the start.

Ultraseven X isn't really "Ultraman-ish".

I'd say watch Mebius just so you get an idea of what current Ultraman is like before watching this movie.

Yeah, like FK said, Mebius can give you some good insight on Ultraman, as it bring back Ultraman like Seven and Leo.

I'd say at the most, just watch a few episodes of Mebius and you're good to go. This movie takes past Ultramen and tosses them into an alternate world setting with really only Mebius being the original character. It gives you all the history you need because these version of the characters, aside from Mebius, aren't really their TV counterparts.

Watching some of Mebius wouldn't hurt but it's hardly necessary. Even though Mebius is the original character his backstory doesn't really play into the film at all and there would be no harm in watching the film cold.

Enjoy the movie! It's the second-best of the post-Cosmos films, after Ultraman the Next, and it's a ton of fun!
