Looking through the crew listings to see who's directing what episodes...
Episode 1
"Quo Vadis"
(Named after the novel of the same name, I assume?)
Directed by Gakuryuu Ishii, who seems to be a newcomer to the Ultra series. The only film in his filmography that I recognize is GOJOE but I've only heard the title. No idea how he is as a director.
The monster Niruwanie appears!
Episode 2
"Laundry Day"
Directed by Kiyotaka Taguchi! My favorite!
Evidence points to this episode being very similar to Kanegon's episode from the '66 series.
The monster Burezaren appears!
Episode 3
"The Businessman Who Came from Space (The Sky)"
Directed by Yuu Irie, who is also a newcomer. Seems to have won a couple of awards in the past.
The alien Valkanus (Volcanus?) appears! (This name may be based on the Japanese name for the Roman god Vulcan.)
Episode 4
"The Hole of Pandora(?)"
Directed by Gakuryuu Ishii
Maaraa appears!
Episode 5
"The Town Without Words"
Directed by Yuu Nakai(?). I can't seem to find any concrete info on this guy. At least not that I can read well.
Episode 6
"The Plausibly Stinking Island(?)" (LOL I DUNNO)
Directed by Kiyotaka Taguchi
The Awful-smelling monster Sedegan appears!
Episode 7
"Iron Shell"
Directed by Yuu Irie
Gastrobot appears! (Gastropod + Robot?)
Episode 8
"Cross Over to the Planet of Memories"
Directed by Gakuryuu Ishii
Episode 9
"Tokyo Protocol"
Directed by Kiyotaka Taguchi
The giant monster Prana appears! (Hmm?)
Episode 10
"Falmagon and Michiru"
Directed by Yuu Nakai
Falmagon appears!
Episode 11
"Argos Democracy"
Directed by Yuu Irie
Episode 12
"Hominis Dignitate" (Possibly an allusion to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oration_on_the_Dignity_of_Man)
Directed by Yuu Nakai
So four directors with three episodes apiece and all but Taguchi are newcomers to the Ultra series. And, really, Taguchi only really came on board for Ultra Zone, which barely counts.
Also, I wish my Japanese was better because there's a CRAP-LOAD of new info here: http://www.moegame.com/sfx/archives/201212031707.html
There seem to be a ton of Roman/Greek allusions present in this series.

Yeah, seriously. This is definitely one of my most-anticipated releases of 2013, along with Pacific Rim in July. Is knightphoenix still planning on being a crazyperson and skipping this?
