Ultimate Spider-Man (TV Series)

I agree with everyone here that 4th wall breakers are not doing the show any good, they really just bring the show a screeching halt. If they were better written or meshed with the episodes better they may be tolerable. Though I hope in the second season that they have taken the criticism and just drop them altogether.

As for the show proper I like how it is addressing the new reality of Spider-Man. Even though I still think making him (and Wolverine) Avengers wasn't a good idea, it is the new status quo. Spider-Man is now a team player, he is an Avenger and since due to legal reason he can't be in the movies they want to present it somewhere else.

The one problem with the team I have is Nova, his power level and backstory makes him feel out of place in a team of street-level heroes. Worse yet it is the new Nova and not Richard Rider who let's face it was at least a Peter Parker style character. That and I still find the new Power Man look weird, though I guess having the classic yellow wouldn't fly these days for obvious reasons.

What I would like to see in season two is some of Marvel's other "kid" teams. Cloak and Dagger would be a good fit, could even turn their appearance into an anti-drug episode. Then there is the Power Pack which I mainly want for Katie wiping the floor with everyone. And finally the Runaways need some more exposure damn it, plus an animated Molly would be awesome for the same reasons as Katie. Really I just hope Marvel uses this series to showcase more of their teen/kid heroes since they really need considering the only other place they are right now is Avengers Arena... Still makes me mad.

Considering they were starting to work with Marvel on getting the Stark Tower in the Amazing Spider-Man, it's only a hint that Sony is seeing the possible money signs they could get from having Spiderman in with the Avengers.

Think about it.

I loved this show from beginning to end and despite the whole Mcguire-isms, its like watching Teen Titans again, and that's a good thing in my books mixed with some YJ.

I thought it was funny that the VA for Kevin Levin from Ben 10 did the voice for a character that can shoot chi out of his fists. Whenever they write his characters, its almost as if they are more likable than the main character.

Yikes... I can see why people hate the show. Saw three really bad eps in a row with somer insanely forced humor.

But then saw some good ones with a Dr. Strange team up and a tussle with the Juggernaut.

Quite the mixed bag. Where me and the roommate would just groan in disgust at some bad episodes, we were suddenly surprised at the humor in the Juggernaut episode.

Still worth watching.. even if I have to endure some crap.

Now we're on the same page. The show has beautiful animation and fight scenes, but they're interrupted in favor of cutaway humor.
