Transformers War For Cybertron Megatron

The first wave of the new "Generations" line featured new versions of Optimus Prime & Bumblebee based on their appearances in the recent video game, "War For Cybertron." While both of the WFC toys were somewhat frustrating regarding transformations, I found them to be pretty fun toys.

The second wave expands on the trend a little bit. Megatron is the third of four planned WFC molds and the first Cybertronian Decepticon in this new series.

This Megatron's Vehicle Mode is a Cybertronian battle-tank. Its kind of odd-looking (most Cybertron-based craft are) but its functional at least.

Megatron possesses the easiest transformation sequence of the WFC toys so far; its mildly complex without feeling like a pain in the ass.

Robot Mode looks like everything you'd expect from a pre-Earth Megatron, keeping such classic elements as the arm-mounted fusion cannon (which can be placed on either arm) and his trademark evil-helmet.

Articulation is relatively acceptable; unfortunately the transformation somewhat limits the movement of his arms. I would've liked some wrist or more defined elbow movement but everything else is good.

The initial pre-release pictures didn't inspire much confidence but after getting him in hand I can say I'm very satisfied with WFC Megatron- he's a great Deluxe figure and makes a great counterpart to Prime. Recommended!
