Heh, Transformers won the best film you haven't seen yet

but the main point is that there was some cool stuff sown, a small montage of new scenes as well as the big bot speaking, Optimus Prime speaking with Sarah Silverman, as well as a full on fight between two transformers, namely Prime and bonecrusher

Hopefully the movie will live up to the hype ^^

I think it's gonna absolutly CRUSH every Box office Record in it's first Week. It remains to be seen if the second week will go anywhere from

A) The people who remember to original Transformers and can't identify with the new "Vision"
B) The Fans who Don Murphy spent so much time communicating with only to have Bay spit in thier eye and claim he was always looking out for them.

Personally I'm torn. On one hand I want the film to suceed and get seqauls. on the other hand I want to see Micheal Bay fail and ridiculed for being Yet ANOTHER Hollywood type who thinks they can come into some project and know it better than the fans. People who learned nothing from Super-Mario Brothers, Godzilla, and every other Re-imagined property.

It's a fact that one of the main reasons the original film failed was how violent it was in comparison to the TV show. here we have a film rated R for it's voilence that is getting a PG-13 cause Spielberg said so.

I hope this is good, but I still think it's gonna bomb and people will laugh at it for all the wrong reasons.

why do you think it's gonna bomb? I don't think people will laugh at it, so far it seems like a well made film, granted there are a few things like designs, but still I'm sure people are willing to accept changes to the transformers, at least it's staying true to the whole transformers mythology with the characters etc and not going off on a wild tangent like Godzilla or the god awful Mario bros movie which kinda removed the main reason those franchises were famous in the first place.

I'm sure a lot of people can identify with the new "vision", fans may find it a bit harder as they know every aspect of the fandom, however those who remember the cartoon from their childhood would probably easily identify with the movie versions, I bet the least they would remember are the names and the fact Prime was a big red and blue truck which are present in the new movie and I'm sure they can deal with the modernisation of old characters.

I think spit is a bit harsh, anyway it wasn't Bay who made the designs which is where most of the hate for this movie is focused, and then they even bothered to change the designs (well head design) for Megatron and Prime, they could have just said F**k off to the whole fandom but at least to a degree they actually listened.

And I'm sure with all those films you just mentioned Bay and the whole team are smart enough not to make the same mistake, I mean they have a lot of examples to look at, at least this time they listened to the fans and IMO managed to make a faithful modernisation/live action adaptation of the Transformers.

I feel like most "normal" and "cool" people will think it's "What, is this Power Rangers?! Hahahaahaha!"

Just feel it'll take to big a leap of imagination for most people to sit back and enjoy it.

See...about the Mario Bros movie, I had long assumed people thrilled about THIS movie actually liked that one

I don't think the movie will be laughed at because it's TF, they'll laugh at it because Micheal Bay simply sucks, and has been a made a fool of plenty of times to the extent he was publicly ridiculed in Team America

And yeah, I can identify very well with whatever modern "vision" someone has...it just depends on quality and proper identification.
