Tokusatsu Novel

Hey guys, this isn't for publication or anything (though if it's any good I could try), but I'm writing a book on my time off. I have an idea for a story involving an armor with properties that alter via emotion. I'm using the format of Tokusatsu for it, since it's one that I know pretty well. The main story isn't too far off from the average Toku, but it's the characters and conflicts that I'm hoping feel fresh and interesting.
Any suggestions, or anything you as a fan of the genre love to see in a series?
