Toku is Revived for Me.

Is anyone else out there feeling it? That energy you had when you first came to know Tokusatsu? Everything was new and wonderful. You had your Kamen, your Sentai, your Ryukendo/Garo/Metal-hero type show, your Ultra, Power Rangers!

You were into it and you wanted it all.

Well the past couple years have been dead for me. Power Rangers was merely "ok"; Kamen Rider wasn't grabbing me the way it used to; And Super Sentai seemed to be getting sillier and mundane.

We all have our opinions. Maybe yours is different.

But this year, this is the golden year for Toku. Not only do we have a fantastic season of Power Rangers so far (with two wonderful EPs, Eddie and Judd fucking Lynn), but we have Kamen Rider Dragon Knight which continues to impress and delight every week.

We also have Shinkenger which is blowing me away and Kamen Rider Decade. Tomica Rescue Force was also a real treat to watch.

This year has just revitalized my love and interest in the genre. These are the shows I can show to my friends. Go Onger? I couldnt show that to my friends. Shinkenger? Oh you fucking believe I can present that to a roommate and believably have them say "not bad".

These are the shows that you can proudly say "This is why I love Toku".

I agree Sakio, RPM is indeed kicking ass. But I just can't get into KRDK. I don't know why. I want to like it but something takes me out of it. On the other side of the ocean however, Shinkenger is soild so far. Not a big fan of Decade but that's just me.

I can definitely say that about Shinkenger and Decade. The jury's still out on Dragon Knight for me, though.

Dragon Knight, Shinkenger, and Tomica I am loving. Decade the jury is still out. RPM to me was complete trash. Just a bad merging of Terminator and Max max with laughable main characters.

I am not a big PR fan, but looking at Light Speed Rescue, Timeforce, and wild force... The RPM premier was trash.

Shinkenger is awesome for me right now, Decade also, Ultra Galaxy is just Monster Fighting fun, RPM is solid, KRDK is okay

I feel that way every year but this year its extended.

Dragon Knight AND RPM = american super hero time kicks ass

Shinkenger and Decade = Saturday nights are always a blast

Tomica Hero Rescue Force= Been loving that show since the first episode. it honestly deserves more love.

I haven't watched RPM yet.

Although I like the main character of Decade, the jury is still out on the storyline and the show itself.

I'm really excited about KRDR. This has given me a reason to wake up on saturday mornings again. I like how they put their own original twist to it while keeping the same feel to it.

Shinkenger so far has restored my faith in sentai after go-onger.
