Today's my Anniversary!

Life is showtime
No I'm not married at 16!

Today's my One Year Anniversary of re-igniting the flame of Toku, I re-discovered it a year ago today! Hurray for me! :P How far have I gotten you say? Not far really, but I have explored the world of Toku quite a lot. I've seen Kamen Rider, old and new. Sentai, old and new. Ultraman, old and new. I own 3 box sets, and I shall soon have ZyuRanger here. :jam: So I have a question for you guys (and girls) out there. When did you discover Toku?

I'm pretty sure it was around the 5th month of last year, a friend of mine linked me to the Henshin Justice Kamen Rider page and I downloaded FAIZ shortly after.

When was still in kindergarten. Gavan was the first Japanese hero that I got to watch. At that time was watching some reruns of KR Black and some Sentai such as Flashman and Maskman etc. 80s RuLe! Sentai, Metal Heroes at their peak during this time. Heh!

:D

Me? I was about 10 years old and I was living in Berlin in Germany. First Tokusatsu I watched was a German dub of Tokkei Winspector. This was before I discovered and grew up with Power Rangers.

Then years later, when I was a teenager, I decided to go on the internet for some information on "Power Rangers" (for some childhood memories), and somehow discovered that Power Rangers was originally a Japanese TV show called "Super Sentai". After watching some videoclips of ZyuRanger, I was amazed. I've always been a fan of Japanese culture, and to discover that all this time "Power Rangers was one of the cool things from Japan" was quite exciting. Kinda reminded me of that episode of The Simpsons where Homer discovered "Mr Sparkle". :P

Then later I eventually discovered some other cool heroes from Japan, including Uchuu Keiji Gavan and his friends Shariban and Shaida, Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Kikaida, and I've also managed to rediscover Winspector.

Now I'm the proud owner of some Tokusatsu DVD and VCD sets. :)

Currently now I am learning Japanese, and I'm hoping to live in Japan and start a new life.

I wanna live in Japan too! I'm saving up for a holiday there but when I get older, have a full-time job and save up CRAPLOADS of money, I'm gonna move to Japan, settle down with a Japanese wife and have a great life in the Land of the Rising Sun. :jam:

Congrats.

I discovered PR first. Then during Turbo I noticed way too many Japanese road signs and the footage changing. I got internet in 1997 and got into Sentai from there. Denji Sentai Megaranger was the first series for me.
