Well it's a kids show so that's all you can hope to have. I mean, the actual idea of the TMNT as a kids show is gimped from the get go since it's ninjas fighting other human ninjas but for kids. They have deadly weapons but cant ever use them to piece each other so they just do a power kick and knock em down.

The Lost Season/Ninja Tribunal/Season 5 is AMAZING.
I bought the R4 dvd set from Australia, and I was blown away. Who wrote this season, Clive Barker?
All of the magic and mysticism and demonology which was hinted at in previous seasons goes front and center this year. Scary stuff. Especially the flashback ep where they visit the Ancient One. BRRR.
I am SO glad I took Skyknight's advised and picked this one up. Highly recommended if you like the 200X series.

that reminds me of an obscure rumor going around that Leonardo was supposed to be the next leader of the Foot clan at one point.

Season 5 is..... I can't belive people actually died. I mean this is sponsored by 4kids so wow. Great season the weapons and the magic. I always loved this show for the comic references, magic, mythos, got me out of bed on saturdays.

The latest 2008 TMNT series pitch has been turned down by Playmates. The concept would have seen the Turtles returning to their own time, but in the premiere, accidently meet their youger selves and bring them back to the preset (2008), where they team up to battle an evil Digital being intent on conquering the realm of cyber-space.
Rugrats? DIGIMON? And MIRAGE APPROVED this?
Playmates pitched their own idea, something closer to the original series and the ARCHIE comics, and THEY were turned down by MIRAGE and 4Kids.
