They were thinking of producing a new series, but the pilot film fell through. The style of the aborted pilot reel was similar to Team America.

The film was an embarrasment, I agree. It's too bad, as Jonathan Frakes actually directed some good moments, but he ought to have been given better material to fit the movie he was saddled with.

There's a reason nobody has bothered with Thunderbirds since then, and that movie was it.
