Three New Toonami Originals Announced For 25th Anniversary

There were times when we thought we wouldn’t make it this long, but it’s happened! Toonami has now remained on television for 25 years (give or take a few MIA periods). And the block is celebrating with the announcement of three MORE originals — whether you like it or not.
It’s easier to cherry-pick the best from a large pre-existing library than it is to create something yourself. But Toonami thought it had a safe bet back in 2016 when it ordered the first AS-era original anime production, a revival of FLCL in the form of two additional seasons. FLCL: Progressive and FLCL: Alternative turned out to have nothing to do with the original classic; the only connection between all three was Haruko herself. Fans were not impressed, but apparently the higher-ups at AS are willing to give it another spin. Two new FLCL shows, subtitled Grunge and Shoegaze respectively, are now in production, and will premiere on Toonami sometime in 2023.

I have a feeling they decided to go for 3d because it is cheaper.
