This is what I'm worried about

It's Judgement Time!

IGN Wii has heard separately that Nintendo is actively re-working some traditional games so that they are more accessible by casual players. If it is truly canned, Project H.A.M.M.E.R. may have become a casualty of Wii's newfound success in the mainstream market.

That Nintendo's new direction may end up excluding certain games and gamers out of their market. Nintendo is supposed to include everyone, and this **** doesn't fly with me.

This is a rumor, but I just hate the idea that a simple game like Project HAMMER (which probably wasnt going to be anything great anyway) was canned because of Nintendo's "casual" direction. Nor do I like the idea that Nintendo might be pushing for developers and influencing game production to become more "casual".

Not kewl, and I hope this rumor is 100% false.

What's the worst thing that could happen?

-Zelda with no exploration elements
-Metroid with no exploration elements
-F-Zero going from rediculously fast racer to slow
-Waverace...with no wave phyics
-Every game being played with the use of the 'A' button (Kirby Air Ride *shudder*)

But I have to agree. Nintendo will exclude their demographic of hardcore gamers if they decide to solely pursue this "casual" market. I mean, it was the hardcore gamers that waited for the Wii on launch day, it was the harcore gamers that didn't ditch nintendo after hearing about the Wii specs. Furthermore, I like the wii-mote, but the last thing I want is to have every game I own as point-and-click for 15 minutes and then turn off the system.

Dude, isn't that like, jumping to conclusions?
