The wierd, wacky, or funny laws thread.

Sometimes, there's a rule that just makes you want to go :sly: Here's a link to one:

US code on performances

Somebody else already has done the research, and it basically says your public displays of the Super Bowl can only be 55 inches high! To makes matters worse, there can be a max of 4 speakers in the same or adjacent rooms!

Better put away that 61" DLP and 7.1 Surround sound system if you're your showing Super Bowl XLII in a public gathering. If the people who thought of this were alive today, they should be publically smothered in the world's largest football dogpile.

So, what other laws do you deem fit for this thread?

In my state there is a law that states that it is a misdemeanor to be in the public with a contagious disease. This basically means that even if you have a cold or the flu you're committing a crime by going to school, work or go anywhere public.

In Boston you need a doctor's prescription to use a bathtub.
In Pocatello, Idaho, it's illegal to give your true love a box of choclates weighing less than 50 pounds.
Anywhere in the US, it's illegal to fish off the back of a giraffe.

That's actually pretty cool. "Boss, I'd love to come into work today, but I have athletes foot and I think I'm catching a cold. Can't break the law, now, can we?"

Anyway, in Arizona, it's illegal to play cards with a Native American. Racist much?

In Chicago, it's illegal to fish in your pajamas.

In St. Louis, it's illegal to drink alcohol out of a bucket.

In Philadelphia, it's illegal to sleep on top of a refrigerator.
