The Valiants (Rated 12) - RPG Thread

“You’re the one to talk, hypocrite.” White Dream retorted, rubbing her wrist lightly. It was clearly plain to see all attempts made upon her part for Kyle to stay out of this and leave was futile. Kyle’s deal with Noir still fueled her with utter resent. She would not accept the intruder’s apology and would treat him no differently then those they had faced before. Adding more fuel to the fire, White Dream noticed that the front of her outfit had now exposed her chest slightly. Not concern with her appearance at the moment, delivered a side kick into Kyle’s abdomen sending flying into the pile of turned over chairs. Though she was far from finished with him and walked towards him, fixing her the kimono shirt.

If Kyle hadn't seen her kimono open at the time, he might have been able to dodge the kick to his gut. But he did and was knocked back into a table, sending the chairs toppling to the floor. Kyle sat up and coughed. Her kick had knocked the wind out of him. If this was some punk or a mugger he met in an alley, Kyle would've layed his ass on the pavement. But this was no sleazeball or crackhead. It was a beautiful girl who, as Kyle deduced, was one of the goodguy's. Kyle was caught in quite a pickle. But, he needed the info Noir had. Even if it meant beating up a girl. But Kyle did not want this to get ugly. At least not yet.

"Listen," said Kyle, crossing his legs and straightening his jacket, "I think we got off on the wrong foot here. I don't want to fight you, I stay away from fighting women. A code of honor you might say. I think we could come to terms if we just sat and talked this through. But... if you feel that fighting is the only way this can be solved... then I guess I'll have no choice but to forget my honor and throwdown."

Crimson blinked in disbelief as Kyle was sent flying by White Dream. He knew from experience that this meant White Dream had decided to view Kyle as a criminal, and this in turn posed a dilemma for him.

He hadn't made up his mind on whether Kyle Marks was an enemy or not. Crimson senses told him the young man didn't want to fight them. His subtle body language showed that all of his energy was focused on Noir.

At the same time though, it was clear Kyle would fight if he had to. Crimson knew that if White Dream was attacked, he would automatically join the fight in her defense and possibly do great harm to the young man.

He focused all of his attention on the pair, for the only way he would stay out of the clash was if he was told to by White Dream, and even then if would be a massive struggle to override his instincts to protect his teammates.

****************

(OOC: Since this is between White Dream and Kyle I'm trying to have Michael stay out it, but I still want to be active in the game. Hence the way to keep Crimson on the sidelines if/when the pair fight.)

Kyle was distracted. Good. Lionman had had quite enough of the brat. He wanted to focus on Noir, so he kicked open the back door and dragged Noir out into the alleyway behind it. Nobody ever came out here except possibly a few hobos looking for a place to stay the night…and they weren’t going to say anything.
“Scream for help and I’ll pluck out your eyeballs,” he sneered, throwing Noir against the wall. He bent down and pressed his knee into the gangster’s gut to keep him pinned. He prepared to snap another of his fingers.
“Do you really want me to keep destroying your wanking hand?” he asked, “because I’ll be honest with you, Noir, I want to finish you off so I can get that stupid Yank away from my friends. Now, tell me where Diodorus is.”
“All right…” Noir wheezed through his agony. “…All right, I’ll tell you. The Mad Greek…he’s…he’s in Camden Town…operates out of a casino…The Russian Coat.”
The Russian Coat,” Lionman repeated. He stood up, “Get the hell out of my sight. Go to the hospital, say you fell down some stairs. Tell anyone about what transpired here tonight, and I won’t hesitate to put your lights out.” As Noir scrambled away, Lionman turned back and walked into the room again, “White Dream, leave the brat. Noir sang like a canary. Crimson, better shift back to normal, we gotta get to Camden.”

White Dream had shifted into another fighting stance in response to Kyle’s reply. “Crimson, I would like to handle this matter on my own, if that’s all right?†she questioned politely, will keeping her attention upon the young man. Though this fight was not to take place hearing Lionman had been successful obtaining the information, which they came to find in the first place. White Dream felt relieved and let out a calming breath, moving out of the stance.

“It appears that we agree upon one thing.†White Dream addressed Kyle, “I did not want to fight you in the first place. If you had listen to me in the first place, then this would not have escalated into a fight. Yet, you’ve shun my warnings and continuously interfered. Not only that you’ve no right to speak lowly of Lionman.†White Dream turned around to look at Crimson, with a slight nod in gratitude and moved towards Lionman.

"Um... sorry?" said Kyle slightly confused of what had just transpired here. Still, he had unfinished business and needed the info that Noir had. Standing up from his seated position, Kyle put his hands into his pockets and casually walked toward the group, putting on his casual face. Standing next to Crimson, who seemed the most level-headed of the group, Kyle gave the trio a look.

"So... are you guys superheros or what?"

Michael smiled briefly in the knowledge that the mission was a success. He then nodded at White Dream, also glad that the fight never occured.

Michael closed his eyes and forced the beasts mind back, feeling the agonizing transformation reverse itself. The transformation, as it always had, left him tired and drained. Automatically, Michael reached for his belt and removed the serum from it's resting place.

Gripping the syringe in his right hand, Michael calmly injected himself in the left arm. Offering a sigh of relief, Michael glanced around and finally realized that Kyle was standing next to him.

Kyle's question caught Michael off guard, although he wasn't sure why. Maybe it was a delayed reaction at his calmness around the beast that was Crimson. Remaining quiet, Michael decided to let someone else answer it.

Lionman glared hatefully at Kyle through his mask.
“What if we are?†he asked sharply. “What’s it to you? In fact, what’s any of this to you?! I should have you in prison for this you interfering son-of-a-bitch!â€
He was approaching the American with echoing footsteps, seeming to grow over him, loom and tower like a menacing colossus.
“You jeopardized this entire operation with your meddling, and one of Noir’s agents inside the club has probably reported this whole damn fiasco to Stavros Diodorus right now! It was humiliating to deal with Noir while you stood there making remarks as if you were in charge!†He picked up Kyle by the neck and lifted him into the air with ease. Any kick would be dulled by the padding of his outfit, and it was not above Lionman to snap the Yank’s neck in four different places.
“WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!€

"First of all," said Kyle, his face not showing any sense of fear, "you seriously need a breath mint. Second, while I am sorry that your pampoured ass was humiliated infront of some lowlifes who already hate your guts, I only wanted information that Noir had. When I got it, I would have left and gone back home. But now I need to track that jerk-off and get that info from him. So, you know what? I am sorry. Sorry that I didn't keep my ass out of your little play date while you violated like twenty different civil rights! I mean, Jesus, you killed a guy! He was just defending himself when you attacked first! What the hell kind of hero does that? So, you guys can just keep doing whatever you want to whoever you want. In the meantime, I need information from Noir, and I am going to get it. Don't like it? Well then you can just kill me here and throw me in a dumpster to rot, because that's the only way you're gonna stop me."

“Information?” White Dream stood quarter of a turn. “Exactly what kind of information? Those who come seeking information from that man are not pleasantry questionnaires. Even if we had not been here, I highly doubt that you’ll receive the answers that you seek. Nor alive to be speaking matter-of-fact. You would have been killed right there on the spot.” Prying herself away from where she had stood, White Dream approached them, if for any reason was to calm Lionman and to prevent Kyle from being added amongst the deceased. It seem that the spirits that were in the room had long departed, after seeking retribution “If you had been more observant Kyle, then you would have notice that man wasn’t protecting himself. That man served as one of Noir’s bodyguards. He wasn’t defending himself, but Noir.” placing a hand lightly upon Lionman’s right shoulder. White Dream squeezed his shoulder very lightly, pleading him to release the young man.

“I don’t have time to play with filth like you,” Lionman half-threw half-dropped Kyle into a booth, “those men gave up their ‘civil rights’ when they started pulling young girls into this place so they can lose their self-respect for profit. What goes around comes around, ponder on that. Maybe there’s another reality where scum like them are seen as human beings, but this is our world and so long as I breathe, their kind don’t go unpunished. If you want to go after Noir so desperately, get on with it. I’m finished with him for now. Crimson, Dream, round up all the girls and get them outside, then meet me by the car.”

With that, he turned and walked out of the back door of the club. He didn’t fear the police, but he didn’t want to waste any more precious time. Diodorus was a monster, and with God as his witness, Lionman would end his reign of evil. So what if people didn’t see him as a ‘hero’? If they didn’t appreciate the idea that bad guys were punished and good guys were saved, then so be it. Let them live in their own filthy ignorance.

He walked across the street towards an awaiting vehicle. The Phantom was a heavily modified Rolls Royce, converted for more practicle uses than simple leisure. It was also un-stealable, given the fact that it would only activate if a registered Valiant commanded it to.
