The Tabletop/Board Games/Card Games Thread

Braver

Trust No One
I may as well shoot this petition out and see where it goes.

So today, a few friends and I were talking about D&D which shot up my passion to give the 4th Edition a try. But, since none of us had experience with it, I figured to try my luck and ask around here.

To my surprise, I noticed that the GameStation Taisen section only covers video games and none of the other forms of gaming.

So, I shoot this idea out for discussion: I propose a subforum in GST for discussion of Tabletop Gaming

This section would include discussion of pen+paper roleplaying (D&D, Japan's Sword Wars), board games (new and old), card games and really any other game not affiliated with video games. Maybe even create new games (cuz a new card game is WAY easier to make that a video game).

What do you guys think?

No, no... not a thread petitioning it... a thread for conversation. If the thread generates enough conversation, then yeah... sure.

Let me re-title this... :)

Oh, whoops.

Well then, to carry on to my first reason for starting this, the 4th Edition rules of D&D.

Has anyone here played up these rules? I'm only familiar with 3.5th Edition and knowing glorious Wizards of the Coast, they love dropping their past for the shiny future.

Besides that, I did play Yugioh through the first three generations, Pokemon about the same.

Also been real fascinated with Magic though, never gave that a shot.

Not a huge fan of 4th edition. It's just not the same as 3.5, and really not all that fun.

Play Magic man! One of the best card games out there. I play whenever I go visit my friends, and even played a match yesterday.

Really, huh, shame then. Seemed neat, streamlined, but neat. I had poked around the books thanks to a torrent. ^^

The trouble with me and card games is that I just having difficulty keeping up with all the expansions that come out. Probably why I like digital versions of them. Usually free as well. *cough*

I'm also interested in picking up Sword Wars, Japan's answer to D&D, after I found out that one of my favorite Animes is actually a replay for a real session.

If it looks interesting, go for it. I'm just speaking from personal preference.

Yea, it's quite hard when the companies release a few expansions a year, but it you're generally picking up some packs here and there, it isn't so bad. I try to splurge on cards every now and then to keep up with the game.

Oh? That sounds pretty interesting. Also, if ya got Skype, I'm currently in this anime style D&D campaign with a few members from here. I can't find the link to the thread, but I can get you in discussion with the DM.
