I love what I have seen of this series and definately plan to see more in the future. I love how well the first episode puts you right into it. The acomplish the origin with a minimum of fuss yet everything still makes sense for the most part.

Yeah, Sasaki was victim of a housefire in the early '80s and suffered serious burns (this is supposedly why he only provides his voice in the ZX special, but I don't know if that's accurate). He overcame the psychological and physical damages and returned to acting in the late '90s. He's since been to small tokusatsu related events, but I was wondering why they never bothered getting him for something like Masked Rider Live (all three that were held only had Fujioka and Miyauchi).

I have never heard this about him. That is really sad to hear but I am glad that he has recovered from it all. I could only guess that he declined the Masked Rider Live shows, because I really can't think of a reason they wouldn't ask him. If he's returned to acting are there any pictures of what he looks like now?

I think Sasaki just has a wacky schedule or something, sometimes he pops up in places where Fujioka & Miyauchi aren't, like this one-off stage show thing they did not long after the 2000 concert alongside Senba (V3's Doktor G.) He does the occassional magazine or book interview, but I like to think he's busy because he just has a real career outside of Tokusatsu (as opposed to Miyauchi. :laugh: I kid, I kid. )

You can see him post-recovery in the interviews from the Kamen Rider Memorial LD\videos (which will probably get a cheapo DVD release some day.) Those were from like, the mid-90's.
As for more recent pics, there's the Kodansha File Magazines from 2004, and he still looks in pretty good shape there, albeit with a lot less hair. There's probably something more recent I'm forgetting, but he's still active in appearances (he did an HMV event alongside Fujioka when the DVD box came out too), just not as much as Fujioka or Miyauchi seem to be.

I respect those first 13 episode now more than ever. It's what I think Tokusatsu should be.

Hongo is finally back!. Shinigami left, and Ambassador Hell (amazing name) is now in charge of Shocker.

The only thing that pisses me off is the continous change of Rider 1's suit. This is the 3rd fucking "form" he's had and this 3rd form looks identicle to Rider 2's suit. The original Blue suit is #1 and the 2nd Dark Green Suit was great too but this 3rd one is just too identicle to Rider 2. I can't tell them apart for **** sakes.

Other than that this series kicks ass. I'd have to throw it up there with Kikaider & JAKQ as my favourite '70s Toku.
