I haven't read all the posts here yet, but I will in a bit. I just went to see it last night. Spoilers behind cut.

Okay. That movie should not have been called Batman, merely because it was not ABOUT Batman. Which was AWESOME cause I really don't like Christian Bale.

It was SO all about The Joker. I was like, " Batman who?" To me, Batman served as a purpose for the Joker to just create more mayhem and chaos.

Heath's performance...was just brilliant. Absolutely amazing. I didn't expect to see alot of the stuff I did see in that movie. I didn't know what to expect from Heath's performance, and you know, since it's been hyped up since pretty much day one, I was afraid of being disappointed.

SO.NOT.DISAPPOINTED.

And who didn't love that pencil trick! :anime:

I was surprised when I saw Batman bust into the door to where Harvey was being held. I thought for sure he would go save Rachel. But no, he went for Harvey.

[hide]Batman WAS going to save Rachel. When Gordon asked him who he was going for, he replied "Rachel". That was part of Joker's plan...giving Batman the wrong address so that he would have to save Dent, and Joker meant for Rachel to die, so that Dent could 'fall from being the white knight' as it were. Something I really didn't expect was at least like a "In the memory of Heath Ledger" type thing but there was nothing, not even at the end of the credits.

[hide]There WAS. It was right before the credits. It was a quick screen that said " In Memory of Heath Ledger" and there was another name up there too but I didn't catch it. I was expecting a little more, actually.[/hide]

One thing I didn't quite get was Harvey's motive after becoming Two Face, I mean at the beginning he didn't seem that into Rachel, then all of a sudden he'd kill everybody for her, meh not that big of a deal.

[hide]Did we watch the same movie? Harvey was very much in love with Rachel...he just didn't seranade her or buy her roses and crap. Harvey Dent was a very cool, smooth character most of the time...and the most heated passion and anger I saw coming from him was after he was in the explosion.[/hide]

I am so glad Katie Holmes was not in this movie. I hate her. HATE. And Maggie is awesome, way better in the role, in my opinion. Too bad she died.

I didn't know what to expect from Aaron Eckhart going into this. I was like, " Hmmm...Aaron as Harvey, huh? Well...okay." BOY am I glad he was cast. I really really likes him in this. They gave him a great storyline, and he wasn't just some nutjob like they show in Batman Forever. He has DAMN good reason to be pissed. Well...had. >_< Why for do they kill everyone.

I also kinda just wanted at least ONE person to see his face after and be like, " Gyaaah! Holy **** wtfing **** happened!" Instead everyone was like, "Act calmly...don't look away! He'll know you're disgusted if you look away. Good GOD think about something other than that face!"

I was also thinking about how much Harvey would need a Visine for that. And how funny it would be if he had to pull one out every so often to moisten his eye. Sorry.. I'm weird like that.

I also love Gary Oldman. I was so sad when I thought he was dead. I was like, "Noooo!" But then he lived, and I was happy....and then I thought he was going to die again at the end, lol. Stupid emotional rollercoasted.


Christian Bale.....meh. Like I said. The movie was SO not even about him. I bet he feels gipped.

I am going to see it again on Tuesday. :buttrock:

ALSO. In the middle of our showing, the reel fucked up or something, and we had to sit there for two minutes in the darkness. It was funny because people were like, " Wtf?" and then when it came back on, it was like in the middle of a scene and we were all like, " WTF JUST HAPPENED!?"

One of the Employees ASSURED us we missed nothing, but it REALLY felt like we did. However, we got complimentary passes for that theatre, so no biggie!!

I got home about few hours ago. I gotta say that The Dark Knight is the best comic book adaptation movie ever I've seen!!

I'm VERY impressed with Heath Ledger as the Joker! Too bad, he's not around anymore.

Rest In Peace, Heath Ledger.

At the end, just wow. Wow. Sounds like the third movie is gonna be crazy sequel.

EDIT: I decided to add some more, highlight from other board.

I watched the movie last night and it is a must-watch! Definitely worth to see this!!

- Heath Ledger as The Joker was pure brilliant. Too bad, he's not around anymore! *sigh* And it was very weird to see him on the screen since he died in Jan.
- While the Joker was in the police station, watched Comm. Gordon and The Mayor of Gotham City, they applauded and then The Joker applauded. That part gave me so creepy. Scary. lol
- Loved the opening, the bank robbery.
- Loved Maggie Gyllenhaal. This is my first time to see her performance.
- Maggie Gyllenhaal > Katie Holmes. Call me crazy but I love Maggie Gyllenhaall.
- After the bank robbery scene, then Scarecrow appearance. Too bad that was short. Oh well. Atleast, he's in jail.
- Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two-Face was awesome.
- Comm. Gordon FTW!!!

So many part I loved about the movie!!

And I have a question. I'm deaf and couldn't understand what were they talking about. Was there any explanation how The Joker became?

Overall, this movie deserves to have a 10 out of 10. Plus, Heath Ledger deserves to win the Oscar award.

And also, the ending was awesome. Sounds like the next sequel is gonna be crazy.

Man, Ledger really pulled it off big time!!!!! God bless his soul. May not be with us, but he'll always be in our hearts.

The movie was outstanding, it really draw out how Batman was supposed to be pictured as.

Now that he's considered as a Hero that nobody wants, what else could he do.

The best parts of the film were the BatPod coming out the Batmobile and the Joker's conversation with Two-Face in the hospital, "Heads you live, Tails you die."

Final verdict, a Must see film for everyone to see. Nothing like the comics, but it was still graphically dark much like the animated series in some parts.

I give the Dark Knight a 10/10.

Say it with me Minna-san, "Why so serious!? Let's put a smile on that face. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!"

I thought it was incredible. My only gripes are with *how* real it was. I think they went so realistic that it doesn't leave much room for the expansion of the Batman mythos... in the DC Universe. I want a World's Finest movie and a JLA.

Oscar winner performance with Heath Ledger. Because of his character I really didn't feel safe at all the entire movie and spent it with my arms crossed the whole time.

Bale did a really good job as Bruce. But compared to Ledger and Harvey Dent... I felt he was trailing a bit. Also I felt Batman was sometimes a little too fallible and unsure.

BIG props toward how they handled the love interest. I didn't see it coming 'til several second before it happened.

I think I put it equal to Iron Man and still under Speed Racer. I mean c'mon... it's *Batman*. You have to be a pretty big **** up to do the film wrong, so I don't think that the writer/director exactly had a challenge on their hands making this good. Speed Racer... nothing about the property is appealing to even myself or anyone. That they made *it* incredible was a miracle to behold. Not to mention a lot of storytelling and visual innovation that created things I'd never seen before and emotional impact that got a pretty full range of emotions out of me. Batman.... I felt fear, which is no small feat. Ledger.... goddamn

tossed The Joker to his doom, but saved him at the last moment. I wonder if that was a thumbing of the nose to the Batman of the first Burton film and how that Batman killed his Joker in the end.

But then he kiiiinda ends up killing Dent in the end, which makes me wonder if that negates his saving of the Joker....
