I don't need to rely on their subs, just like kyo28. However, the gripe I have is not as a watcher, but as a fansubber. I've been a digisub watcher since the first digisub was ever made back in 2000.(True Digisub, not some VHS capture or something) And got involved in fansubbing by 2002. I was mostly involved with quality fansubbers throughout my career. All the groups I worked with, NEVER had such a bad reputation when it came to public relations.
The group channels were always open for discussion, they had rules, but were normally friendly and helpful whenever someone asked for help. They would never ban people out of spite, nor ever would ban someone purely based on opinion. A few of the members of TV-N seem to forget that they are fans just like the people who download their work. Instead they put themselves on a high pedestal, which makes them feel like they are above everyone else. They think that they are perfect, and that whoever is against their opinion deserves to be banned. I mainly speak of KingRanger who is imfamously known for his negative behavior, some of the other staff members have posted here before stating their opinions are not the same as KingRanger, which I respect. However as a group leader, KingRanger has protrayed himself as one of the worst members of the fansubbing community that I've ever seen. And I've seen some pretty bad eggs, like Killshok or devilray to name a few. Fansubbing's purpose is not to make yourself a god among a certain fanbase. It's to provide fans a show with an accurate english translation so that they can enjoy it as much as they can.
