The HJU Great White North TV Thread!

Now here's a show that probably not alot you heard about:

I used to watch Psi Factor a lot. It was more fun in the earlier season where they would sometimes encounter fake phenomenon and sometimes they found explanations. It was a lot more fascinating with the possibilities wide open.

Later on it started to take itself way too seriously and there seemed to be some sort of conspiracy going on... really lame.

Nope, neither is there.

Yeah, I looked through the lists myself, couldn't find anything similar except for "The Intrepids" (or "Les Intrepides") but I doubt it.

In my searches, though, I came across two shows that I am not sure to be ashamed or horrified to say I remembered.

The first was "Harriet's Magic Hats" which is at least "so bad it's good" in it's corniness, being low budget and from the early 1980s and all. (Alot of Canadian TV channels in the 90's certainly liked to re-run almost decade-old children's shows didn't they?)

The other was Size Small. I'm not going to link to it because the sheer low budget sets, puppetry and music and all around lack of actual decent "heart" put in it would just be plain appalling to watch. What's worse is that it was apparently merchandise driven for a series of records (the fact they had a character called "Friend Record," though "it" looked more like a bad hockey puck costume, should have been a dead give away). Why was this still shown years after records, and the merchandise for that matter, became defunct?

And now on to things that are purposely "scary" or at least "supernatural based" (the first one did "Teenage Vampire Romance" right, years before Twilight):

And if you didn't catch it, the awesome ending credits theme for Silverwing. It's a shame it's only 30 seconds long.

In the meantime here is some Australian TV.
Indeed, Spellbinder is a classic, and there were quite a number of Australian and British, Canadian co-productions, or at least popular Canadian airings, back in the day. I will list a few later, but in the interests of being completely obscure I remember this show:

Most notably as I've only ever seen the French dub of it (couldn't find a clip of that one though).

Now about those British/Australian shows/Canadian coproductions/etc:

On another note, I'm having a similar problem like Undrave. I remember this show, I think it was called "F.R.O.G.". It involved some sort of supercomputer (late 1980s-early 90s, sort of black/green monochrome screen) and a number of kids solving various problems/issues around them. I can also remember snippets of the theme tune, which was sort of a techno style, with "Frog" as a refrain. It aired on Global or TVOntario, but I can't seem to find anything specific on it, clip, summary, or otherwise.

Man the Commonwealth had a wealth of good shows
