The History of the Power Rangers - Discussion Thread

So I watched it and after a year of waiting, I have to say it wasn't worth the wait. He clearly is not doing it anymore because he wants to, or is enjoying it, but because he feels like he has to. I might complain about the length of time between episodes (well, after a year, yes), but I want the man to at least enjoy what he is doing. It seemed like he was bored while doing it and honestly, he did not need to spend 10 minutes talking about why he does not compare it to Sentai. He did that way back in the earlier episodes.

He is right about the theme song though. Rap music does NOT belong anywhere near Power Rangers. In fact, rap music does not belong anywhere near anything action related whether it be a movie like GI Joe or a video game like Call of Duty.

I am glad I am not the only one who thought something was off.
I had been watching some of his earlier reviews before watching this, and it felt like he was trying to go through it as fast as he could, and at times I could barely keep up with the things he said.
If I had not watched Mystic Force before, this review would have left me completely lost, because he just threw a ton of information at you very fast. In earlier reviews such as the Lost Galaxy one, he went through it a little slower and went more into detail.

This review sounded more like he was reading straight from a wiki-article.

I honestly think it might have more to do with the fact that he's rushing through it instead of allowing the thing to digest for a while as he used to. Things that I noticed was that it seemed like he was skipping over certain events that felt like plot points, or were noteworthy, at the least. I didn't like how he rushed through the first third of the season. Yes, not a whole lot of it was necessary to the plot, but I always liked Mystic Force up to Gatekeeper for it's scale & originality as far as PR is concerned. It managed to move the plot forward & introduce the characters while also doing a fair bit of world building.

Still, though, I won't say the review is horrible- only that I've tried it & you really have to bust your ass sometimes to get things in order...

Man I have said some goofy stuff on this site before but this is the silliest post in the history of posts. Come on man...Come on.

Ok, I'm going to need an explanation for why you feel this way and what music "belongs" near action related things. I mean I don't like Call of Duty, but "Won't back down" by Eminem was an awesome song to listen to while killing Zombies

Well, after watching the Mystic Force review episodes, I thought they were okay. Although, I wouldn't suggest to Linkara that he'd watch Magiranger after doing the review, I think he should check it out but on his own terms.
