I think what a lot of people are trying to tell Kenori in this thread is that if Kenori has to ask for donations/beg for money to buy a game just so he can review it, maybe he shouldnt be reviewing things.

I mean, if this was a part of your job, like if you are a reviews journalist, I could understand a bit better, though reviews journalist do receive copies from companies like Unmei said. If its not for a job, then I dont really see the necessity to be doing any of this.

I know that its none of our business to tell Kenori how to run his life. But, this is the second time he's made a request like this, though this is the first one that asked for money. IDK, i guess it just seems odd to everyone, myself included.

I didnt make a request like this? I was only looking for footage for my other review that was going to happen one way or another.

This is an "If I get the game I'll reveiw it thing" I have 100s of other ideas for reviews. The reviews things is bottom priority now.

Though come to think of it so is this...

If you've got idea's, start your reviews with things you already have, once you've established yourself, start hitting up smaller companies for review codes (they'll give you access to close to, but not necessarily completed products) and establish your relationship with them, make sure you actually review what they provide for you if you ask for it, or you may end up discrediting yourself. Once you're on solid, work your way up to bigger companies. Before you know it you'll be getting a free copy of L4D 3 next year.

So do a lot of people, they'll live until they can get the game through their own means... either through saving, or the many other means suggested already here. You'll survive without it for awhile as well. After all, as you yourself have said

Team Fortress 2.

Its all you need.

You're pretty much set.
