The Decade 'Price Cut' Ranting Thread

The Thread that we all can complain about how price cuts ruined Decade.

I'll start with one.
I REALLY like Diend, and Kaitou, buuut somethings are obviously reused in his suit. For example, the general body of the suit is Decade's base suit, with slight changes, and the torso and sholder pads are clearly Different. Now this may not be true, but i feel that the HELMET is also recycled, Just look at it...it looks so similar...
Also Diend lacks a Motorcycle, which all mainstream secondary rider all have. Another thing that Diend lacks that most other secondary mainstream riders have is an ultimate form. This is an acceptation to series that either have alot of CGI, alot of forms, or alot of riders. This is clearly not the case for Decade, thus making the fact that if Decade never had a price cut, Diend would have gotten a ultimate form.
DX Diendriver is UP TO THIS DATE the most DISAPPOINTING henshin device EVER. nuff said

What other things do you guys think that Decade could have done better

They had a price cut? I guess I can't talk since they stopped at ep 14, but they have their shar e of explosions, rider suits, and that movie! I know that movie was hella expensive.

I guess it comes down to fan service vs. an actual story. Imo, they had the same budget as a normal rider series. But most of the money went into the Dream Rider War, Final Form Rides, etc. I think they found out how expensive their ideas were when they found out how many episodes they could make.

The most embarrassing thing ever. Kivara. Who has become a plastic toy with a string for several episodes.

Bad writing ruined Decade. That and Toei's intentions. They never wanted to make a true anniversary show to pay homage to the past nine series. They just wanted to help Bandai clear out old merchandise and hastily put together a directionless show with a poor cast. The priorities were mixed up, yet still for God knows why there's a large fanbase simply because some people think old stuff automatically equals awesomeness.

There really isn't anything official said about Decade getting a "price cut" at all. It's just the fact that you liked Diend and are mad that he didn't have those things. :disappoin

It is kind of is surprising that Kaitou didn't have a bike considering he is supposed to be a thief traveling the worlds stealing stuff. I think it would have been cool if his bike was just stolen from a past rider or he could have had a collection of rider bikes.

That and Toei's intentions.
- You could argue that anything and everything that was wrong with Heisei Rider series was because of Toei's intentions/priorities. Most obvious example being the 2nd half of Hibiki (or the 2nd half of Kabuto for that matter). And I don't think it was a positive sign when Kiva's movie was being spruiked by the Imajins instead of it's own cast.

Mind you, I liked Decade a lot, but I've got my own laundry list of complaints with the series:
  • Kuuga was horribly underused, even as a sidekick character. And when he does turn up, all he does is get smacked around like Random Shocker Combatman #06894, unless he HAS to do something (like kick Momotaros in the head)
  • Kivara -probably- wouldn't have been as bad if she was a toy to begin with, but the switchover from CG to the toy was just sad.
  • Amazon's Actor. Nothing more needs to be said.
  • Kaito Don't get me wrong, I thought his character was OK, but he basically hijacked the Faiz World storyline (one of the weakest story arcs in the series, doesn't help that Faiz was one of my favorite Heisei riders), and you'd think that after the Diend storyline you'd see -SOME- character development, but nooooo~~~~
  • In fact, I felt that the Faiz, Agito, and Kabuto story arcs, while they had their moments, were disappointing, lacking the necessary impact they should have had. Which is weird, since the Agito and Kabuto worlds were the ones most similar to the original worlds (excepting Kuuga), but it just didn't feel or flow as strongly as the Ryuuki and Kuuga storylines.
  • And someone please tell me what the hell was the whole point with Narutaki?

I'm wondering if any of this muck-up has anythign to do with the writer changes? I know the original intention was for the All Riders movie to be the last episode for Decade, but the way it's gone...
