The Countdown is On::: I R O N K I N G ! ! !

[SaikoDragon]

Wow. Well, not sure if I would enjoy a show like that. I would have to see some episodes before I would commit to buy. But its good seeing some toku coming over here. I didnt even know The First was also over here. Or maybe I did and forgot. huh

[Forever Knight]

There was no "altering" or tampering involved; the series is the full 26 episode series, uncut, in Japanese with English subtitles. All of the series being released by BCI, IRON KING, SUPER ROBOT: RED BARON and SILVER MASK, are completely uncut and in Japanese with English subtitles -- no "altering" involved.

QFT.

Countdown:
U.S. - 4 days
Canada - 11 days

[ForeverRed]

I forget to ask...

Is there any team up in this show?

Wait... Seriously? That sounds too good to be true. WANT!

IRON KING being uncut isn't an exception; JN Productions released Toei's KIKAIDA, KIKAIDA 01 and KAMEN RIDER V3 on DVD, remastered, completely uncut, and with English Subtitles (two sets of subs, even -- kid friendly and for the older viewer), plus TONS of extras. http://www.generationkikaida.com

As for "committing" to buy IRON KING, how can $22.11 ordering this 26-episode complete box set from Deep Discount DVD be any kind of a risk? Expand your mind, people, there's more to toku than Kamen Rider and Sentai...

The only "team up" of sorts in IRON KING is that Gentaro Shizuka fights the monster robots alongside Iron King, whipping them with his Iron Belt.

Like I've said before, the companies that have the financial muscle to license these series for DVD in the US don't see any difference between IRON KING and KAMEN RIDER, to them they are all guys running around in rubber suits. So, if the sales of IRON KING, RED BARON and SILVER MASK are poor, they will see it as "this 'tokuatsu' stuff isn't popular, so we're not going to risk losing any more money on other shows."

It would be a shame if they were planning on buying some Toei shows next...

QFT. But many people don't bother to look for the other great things Tokusatsu has to offer. That $20-30 will really destroy their wallets, no doubt.

GO OUT AND FUCKING BUY IT YOU CHEAP BASTARDS. :anime:

[Forever Knight]

USA: 2 Days
Canada: 9 Days

[ShadowRider]

As I still wait for my set in the mail, did anyone go out and pick this up in store? Any quick first impressions of the set? I can't wait to get mine!

[ForeverRed]

I checked at Walmart. None.

[August]

BEST BUY... BEST BUY... BEST BUY... I believe Best Buy may be the only big nationwide chain carrying these, since BCI has an in with Best Buy which carries all of their other releases (such as HE-MAN, SPACE ACADEMY, etc.). Not sure if Walmart is carrying these in their brick and mortars, but Best Buy is.
