Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles - Discussion Thread

I wasn't planning on watching it, but due to the fact that NOTHING else interesting was on, I wound up tuning in. I was pleasantly surprised thanks to low expectations. If they keep it up for a few episodes I'll get a firmer opinion. I also like that Dean Whatshisname is in it. He was on Oz and I think he's teh hot.

I just downloaded and watched the first episode so that I can watch the second one on tv tonight.

It was pretty good. I was a little afraid it would be absolute crap, but it wasn't. Lena and Thomas do well enough in the role that I'm not completely turned off by it, although when I watch it, in my mind I'm still thinking of Linda Hamilton and Edward Furlong....but that's just because I've had years to cement them as Sarah and John in my mind.

Oddly enough, I don't really miss Arnold. I mean...how badass would it be if he were in it, yet at the same time I remember T3 and shudder. Blergh. What a crap movie.

I'm going to try and convince my sister to watch it, because she grew up LOVING the terminator series....like...since she was like 2. But she didn't want to have anything to do with the series.

Also, Summer Glau wins. Its good to see her at work after "River".

I downloaded and watch it earlier, while I don't notice anything different from the pilot, I think it's better than the first time I watched it. If you explained the series idea to someone, they would think it would just be awful by what it is, but it's actually entertaining and very respectful of it's roots without crossing the line of hogging off it's sucess.

The characters are well done and the terminators shown so far are great. I think the intro is brilliant and the CG is something to be proud of. I am somewhat unsure if the show will have a 'terminator of the week' style show or be quite slow and progressive. The pilot makes it seem quite action orientated, but I don't know if they can keep it up without introducing too many Terminators.

Look forward to seeing what they go with it!

Ew! I HOPE they don't make it a 'terminator' of the week.

Then it would contradict the idea of a terminator. If they are easy to kill...then there's no friggen point. Eff that.

They should stick with the two they have.

Interesting. Spoiler for episode 2 behind cut

The first episode was set in 1999 right? Well according to wikipedia and the third movie, Sarah succumbed to lukemia in 1997. So is this series ignoring the third movie altogether? Sweeet.

Also Cameron said that Sarah dies in 2004. So...more proof the third movie doesn't count? Or maybe this will indicate the future plots of the series.

Ahhh! So they kept the cancer/lukemia the same. Hmmm...interesting.

ETA 2:

I answered my own question.

The series will ignore Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Sarah Connor will be alive. /according to wiki.
